WIW...styling the Zara bomber

Last Friday I made a purely emotional purchase while scoping things out at Zara's. There was only one of these black silky jackets with flower and bird embroidery. Of course the signage said 'Last Chance'. So I pounced-with no regrets...

Monday worn with a black skirt with lace edge and ivory lace tank top, plus my 'faux studs'. (I get a lot of side-eye when I wear these shoes, and a co-worker confided that she had seen my very same shoes at the Bata Shoe Museum! LOL!)

Tuesday was cold so reverted to my favourite Express grey trousers and Express top. I've been pinning pics of trousers worn with toe exposing booties or 'city sandals' and really like the look.

I really like that bomber -- quite versatile, isn't it. And I've been thinking myself about whether I can get away with open toe booties and a suit.

Oooh how fun! I think Janet also picked up this jacket, and I've been eying it online before it was available. TTS? Looks really good both ways. From the description I expected to like it with the lace skirt more but I actually adore the vibe it lends the second look, especially zipped up -- instantly elevates good wardrobe essentials. Plus, you know, those cognac sandals are a perfect pairing.

Well, of course I love it because I got it too! I got a LOT of use out of it before the weather warmed up here. It turned out to be even more versatile than I expected.

Love it! Aida, I'd say it runs big for Zara. Small fit me easily, medium was huge, and I'm almost always a size small at US stores like Gap, Banana etc.

UmmLila - below are some pics I've pinned from Pinterest for open toe with trousers inspo. My open toes are a little boho, but they are so comfortable. I'm going to try them with a longer and fuller pair of trousers next.

Aida - maybe it runs a little big? I'm wearing a medium, and the sleeves are perfect length, although I prefer to wear it scrunched. My measurements are 36 bust, and 30 waist, but I am broad across the back - shoulder to shoulder (across the back) 18 inches.

Janet - so we are jacket twins! It is perfect for the am commute, and the A/C that kicks on at the office around 3 pm. Light weight, but that extra layer - and so much nicer than a cardi.

Suz - I know! generally embellishment is not my thing. I've got enough going on with 'the hair', but I just loved the embroidery and the bomber style is sporty, therefore familiar. Right now I want to wear it every day!

Well of course I love it, cuz I also have it! I'm also not much of a pattern / embellishment person, but something about this really spoke to me too. I really like it styled with the lace skirt. You have definitely given me an inspiration outfit with this.
