This week has been exceptionally cold for March, and I've had to layer up to stay warm. In spite of this, I've managed to maintain a Spring-y feeling all week by trying to incorporate colors that I associate with S/S dressing every day. I NEED more color and light now. I've used both new treasures, thrifted surprises and golden oldies in my outfits this week.
#1 Monday: I'm sorry for double posting this, but it is part of my theme for the week. New white jeans, sheer wool sweater in cream, brown belt and booties. I topped with the red coat as shown. Loved it:) S/S element: White jeans
#2 Tuesday: I pulled out an old favorite skirt, I think it is from 2005. It has a distinct flare and is quite structured, the closure is buttons on the back. On top I layered stripes and another old favorite, the cardigan. Both are tucked to show off the high waist of the skirt. The mint green scarf was thrifted this week, and to my delight it is made of silk and cashmere. Quite warm and very soft. Red coat and black heeled boots. I felt very comfortable all day. S/S element: The green scarf.
#3 Wednesday:
Did I mention that I like striped tees? My favorite is the classic Breton, but when I found this red and white one at Fretex( Goodwill), in pristine condition, I quickly added it to my collection. I paired it with my cropped pants and moto. Very comfy. S/S element: The red/white tee and pumps (only indoors, naturally).
#4 Thursday: I layered the red dress with a thin long-sleeved tee in light brown wool, topped with my denim jacket and wore the combination with coat and scarf as shown (sans the red bag - old pic). I wore the brown tights to the right. LOVED it! S/S element: Denim jacket
#5 Friday: Tomorrow I'm working from home, and I've planned an all denim outfit, topped with my old favorite cardigan. I think it must be at least 10 years old, but it holds its shape, and I love the color. I always bring it out for S/S. Will I be wearing the heels? Maybe, maybe not, depending on my mood. Since I'm on Team Wear, I argue that heels for my home office is proper dress code;) S/S element: Cotton cardigan in mint.
I realize that the warm weather is at bay for yet some time, but I have hope! The sun shines, and today we planned the end of this term at work. YAY!
