Wiws post-clean out

Hi fabbies, a few recent wiws after my big wardrobe cleanse.
My rating of each outfit:

Outfit 1) casual. 7/10 (comfy and warm but no real wow factor)
Outfit 2) casual. 10/10 (so comfy, lovely charcoal and speckled colours)
Outfit 3) daytime casual social event. 8/10 (loving the pink top and cobalt shoes, also exciting to wear leather-patch blazer. Black jeans getting a little too thin and tight. Lot of black for daytime.)

I think you are being a bit harsh on yourself, #3 in particular looks like a 10/10 too. I love the pink top and your shoes are so pretty too!

For casual outfits, I think we don't always need a wow factor for them to be successful. The shirt and sweater look great together and so I see #1 as a stylish run-around outfit.

Outfit #2, is really good and one of the best aspects is that you can tell that you feel good in this as well. Happiness factor when dressing is really the most important thing.

It is nice to see you enjoying your wardrobe even more post clean out.

They are all fabulous outfits, Jussie! Perfect for the occasions.
I like no 3 a lot, definitely a 10/10. Gorgeous jacket and lovely shoes, the top is beautiful - amazing colour. And I love a lot of black for any time, so only positive All works very well together and YLF.

Bijou: thanks for the lovely words. You’re right I’m possibly being too perfectionist :). Outfit one WAS good for running around in, and the red shoe was a nice contrast to the blue and white. Number 3 really was fun. I mean... Pink! cobalt!! Sparkle! Leather! Woohoo. Hope little Bijou is better now after her op. My darling westie is asleep on the couch right now as usual.
Katerina: thank you very much for the kind feedback. You’re right- there’s nothing wrong with wearing black in the daytime. You do it to fabulous effect all the time! I gotta let some of these self-imposed rules go....

I love them all too! You look comfortable and cute in the first one, which I say is great for a run-around outfit.

Congratulations on your closet edit. Lots of work went into it. Your earlier post was fascinating. I hope you reap all the benefits of your hard work.

So have you always rated your ensembles or is this a new strategy? I ask because I literally just started rating my ensembles this very morning.

At first, I thought this is very subjective ... possibly even meaningless to me. Then I read your ratings and compared those ratings to the WIW. I think you got it right. Number 1 lacks a wow factor and is so-so. Number 2 is definitely 10 out of 10. YAY you. I even understand why you rated Number 3 a mere 8. So somehow our instinct takes over and provides good data.

May I ask how you intend to use this information? Do you have a plan? My personal plan is to start dissecting why some ensembles rate a higher score than others and then use that information to build more successful outfits. I am also going to placate myself with this information during future closet edits. It all becomes easier to edit if the garment in question provides little in our day-to-day outfits. Right?

I like #2 and #3 best too. FABULOUS.

#1 is cute in a slouchy way, but I'd have sized you down in the white jumper!

I love 2 and agree 10/10! And the pink is a great color on you.

I would rate 1 a bit higher - the light color jumper (just returned from 3 weeks in Oz and love saying jumper!) is very fresh and striped shirt transitions very nicely to the dark jeans, with the peek of ankle bookending you hair a bit.

Karen13 and Sherri: thanks for your feedback! Jumper is a fun word and makes me think of a sweater bouncing up and down on a trampoline lol.
Angie: thanks for the feedback! I agree the white jumper is a little big ;).
Sterling: well mostly I hope to repeat the high scoring outfits lots! And also I think it will let me be more focused with shopping in the future. I hope to nail down some common elements between outfits I love. I have only just started rating them. I take into account aesthetics, comfort, suitability for purpose and fit, and kind of muddle it all together for a score. Thanks for your feedback as always :).

Troubleshooting: Color. Texture. Pattern. Shine. Add a shiny necklace or earrings to #1. Bam! A 10!

Donna F: that’s a really good suggestion. I often completely forget about shine/bling when putting an outfit on. I will try some options with outfit #1.

I think #1 is a great causal outfit. #2 and #3 are definitely both 10s! You have fabulous style and I enjoy seeing your posts.

I started scoring for the same exact reasons you cited above. I want to wear the ensembles/clothes that make me feel my best. I am also using the rating system to assuage some guilt as I continue to cull my closet.

I'll watch for future posts from you on this subject. I think it will be successful for both of us.

Ha, I was going to suggest the exact same thing as DonnaF - add a long pendant necklace or a short statement necklace to #1 and I think it would have that wow factor that you're looking for.

I love the pink and black together in #3 and the colored sneakers in #2 are so cute.

JUSSIE- I think all 3 are home runs. Clearly you kept great pieces in spite of wardrobe cleanse. Nice job styling ( and of course- love that scarf)
