Wore this for the first to work yesterday.
1. Do you think dark tights would be better? Felt a bit short.
2. I really need a cami that isn't a V-neck. I only have one, that is hot pink. Not sure l can wait for uniqlo to open as Bijou suggested. Recommenations for Australia?
This dress was quite warm. It's lined apart from the sleeves.

I think it would look good with dark tights. I don’t think it looks too short, but I’m familiar with the feeling that I’d prefer more length, and the tights fills in the gap for me.

Also, a half cami is what I’d wear to fill in the neckline. I don’t know what you’ve got there for that. I know Angie has recommended second base camis in past. Something like that. The necklace fills in the space well, and you look nice in your outfit.

I like this dress on you. Yep I think dark leggings or tights are a good idea. Not because of the length but because it would be cohesive with the wintery boots. For camis I go to Zara.

Lovely outfit and while it is fine as pictured, I agree dark tights may look professional also and take you deeper into cooler season. I don’t see a problem with neckline but you have to feel comfortable. you look great and best wishes on your new job- hope it is all you want it to be

Cute dress! I really like it on you. I don’t think it is too short, but I might prefer it with dark tights anyway as you head into the cooler months.

I’m biased because I love dark tights with dresses for fall and winter.
You could wear sheer dark tights when not yet cold weather and then warmer ones if you get into deeper winter.
I don’t know stores but maybe not too hard to get a simple dark cami.

Really pretty dress. I would like with or without tights. Ezibuy has a range of camis. I prefer slippery material so tend to get from Farmers here, a mid-range department store( bit better than Target but not as fancy as DJs).

Love it as is, but I think dark tights would look great - as a personal preference on myself, I like the lengthening effect of dark tights with dark boots.

You look lovely in this dress and professional - I don't think this dress requires a cam, but if you would prefer to wear one, then of course do so.

I would wear sheer black hose with this dress and boots which I am preferring to the heavy look of opaque tights. It is fun to be out of summer clothes!

Great dress! I think it will look good with dark tights as well. I second (or third?) the recommendation of Target for basic camis. I have plain cotton/mix stretch ones from there that have worn really well. I do buy them a size up (ie I generally wear 8-10 in tops and these camis in a 12)
If you think that extra layer would be too warm for now, I think some of the specialist bra shops have a kind of clip-on cami to fill the gap without a whole garment.
I just had a quick look online, and there seems to be an Australian version called the Bstring!

Thanks everyone! Am interested in the suggestions of navy tights - the dress is black though I'm not sure if that is showing in your screens.

efbgen - I think I've misled you by missing out a word in my post. I meant that I wore the dress the first time, not that it was my first time at this job (I've been there over 3 years)

I've just remembered something in my wardrobe I can wear - some junior bralettes I wore with summer dresses at Beth Ann's suggestion. Will try this.

I love a winter dress --- too often we relegate them to only warm weather months! I second tights -- in charcoal or black, or perhaps boots in cognac, grey or bone to lighten the contrast with your leg (Dress isn't too short). You and I both have to plan ahead for big purchases, so I'm guessing the tights -- creating a low-contrast line and more warmth, would be the best bet! (Although I could really see you with a pair of bone, taupe or cognac boots!)

Like Angie, I wear a cami under my outfit almost every day. I don't use shapewear, but I like the smoothness and, in most months, the warmth as well. I prefer tanks to camis, because I don't like the way the tiny straps look under some of my knit tops. A bralette is a fabulous option if you're warm enough, and only seeking a bit of insurance from cleavage!

You look great, Anne! I don't think the dress looks too short, but I am like you and would feel more comfortable with more coverage, especially in a work situation. I do wear leggings with dresses that feel a bit too short to me. As others have mentioned, leggings would look more fall/winter than the bare legs/nude hose look. I also like to have a bit of coverage in the neckline and wear Second Base half camis with many of my dresses, unless they have high necklines.

Beth Ann. Yep I think new boots aren't in the budget this year BUT I happen to have some old cognac flat riding boots. Slightly annoying because one zip tag doesn't work, but otherwise just a bit battered. I'll try these out with them when I wear it more casually

Becky, I think leggings will come out for casual wear with the skirt. And I'm with you on the neckline coverage. I don't like to have even a hint of cleavage.
