WIW...lavender’s blue, dilly dilly

...lavender’s green....

I have no idea what the lyrics to that ancient song mean, but it springs to mind since outfits so far this week feature something from the lavender capsule I’ve been assembling.

#1 lavender t-shirt - Cynthia Rowley

merlot ‘track pants’ - Reitman’s

white sneakers - Converse

Merlot pants are new. They are cut along the lines of the Lululemon OTF 7/8 pants, with an elastic waist and front tie. The legs are tapered through the ankle. Perfect slash pockets. Product information shows them as ankle pants, but I ordered ‘tall’ to get a longer length for winter wear that can be rolled up in warm weather or with boots. The slubbed woven fabric is more interesting than a solid. #5 (I’m trying for more texture and pattern.)

My favorite is 3. I really like the top that a few people on this forum got. The converse help round out the outfit perfectly.

I like your new pants - fab fit and color! The strategy of ordering long length in cropped pants were tried myself too with some mixed results - but worked great for you - well done! Fav outfit #4 .

@Angie - you bet! However, it was 20degC today, and a beautiful late autumn day. Too hot for pile lined boots. I’m planing a ‘colour wheel’ week for myself, and the red boots will feature for sure.

@Slimcat - yeah, there is usually extra length in the rise of tall sizes which doesn’t always work. I have a long rise or high hip, high waist going on - so a longer rise can be a good thing with an elastic waist pant.

@delurked - I’m really liking the mesh tops. They can work as layering T’s as well as on their own. I can envision their usefulness as part of a travel capsule, since they compress to almost nothing.

Great new pants ! If they weren’t pleated , I’d be tempted .

1 and 3 are both great. I like the scarf head band very much, it's more than just a different hair style, it looks like you actually have shorter hair, so that's fun. And pretty.

I like the denim jacket with the pants, I think I would like the olive jacket too, I like the scarf with the pants too. Maybe it's just a color reproduction issue but the warm brownish tone of the pants might be kind of fighting the cool lavender shirt?

I love the lavender and olive combination. And, good find on the pants. It can be so difficult to find pants that are not just same-old

@lisap - not pleated...and I got a second pair in a colour called Verona blue that is between a grey and a steel blue and is a different, stretchier fabric (feels like yoga pants.)

Oooh I really want to copy look 1-2 - lavender is sooo pretty with olive. And the speckle in the merlot pants adds great interest. How are you planning to style the steel blue ones?
