WIW: to the Plaid Shirt Party

I've had this plaid shirt forever. At least ten years. (I suspect more than fifteen...)

Anyway, I love it, and even though it's getting old and ratty, I've never been able to talk myself into getting rid of it.

So I'm very thankful to Angie for giving me the perfect excuse to wear it today! And I realize that I need to start watching for a replacement.... (Maybe one that's not so big, and doesn't have fraying button holes and a smudge of paint on one arm....)

I think the last plaid shirt I had was back in high school/college - gulp - in the late seventies.

The boots are ones that I picked up a couple of months ago at a "Clothing Exchange". I've considered dying them burgundy, or at least a darker brownish, but not gotten around to it yet, and am liking them more and more this color. I've worn them a few times here, so you might have seen them before.

I'm still looking for the perfect knee-high riding style boot that I'm willing to pay for

I love the colors in the skirt, they look great with your boots! Aren't those old, flannel shirts comfy to wear? I can understand why you never got rid of it!

Well, I am going to go out on a limb and say that something about this outfit seems very much YOU. You look at home and at ease, and everything sits well. Need to ponder this more, but that was my first thought upon opening this thread.

Yes, Una. This is a very "me" outfit - one that I've worn often, almost exactly this way (well, with boot-cut jeans and short boots) for years. It's very comfy for me.
