WIW....inspired by Dita Von Teese!

Desperately tired of this interminable winter and it's grey days, I turned to Pinterest for inspiration. Was immediately struck by a picture of Dita Von Teese in a red dress...with pockets!

Why, I have a great red dress with pockets! It usually comes out to play for special occaisions ( like my father's 75th, Christmas, and Valentines) but it would work for work!

Now I don't quite have Ms Teese's amazing Snow White colouring, and I could have used a swipe of Annagybe's red lipstick...but I felt comfortable, and colourful on a grey day.

Nothing like a bright color to perk up a grey day. It would also look good with a grey cami or black beads to bookend your shoes.

Thanks for the encouraging comments. The dress is soft, like a T-shirt, so super comfortable.

Joy, I like your idea of bookending the shoes with black repeated at the neck, and bj111 you make a very good point. I don't have a lot of variety in my footwear, and my winter shoes are even more limited in scope than the summer shoes and sandals. Bookending the colour of my hair was an unknown concept until I read about it here, but red hair going white is a bit of a challenge. I've got some tawny boots, but I'm thinking a golden animal print?

Suz,everyone thinks Little Cat is a kitten. She was tiny when we found her as a stray, licking grease off a neighbours bar- b-que in February. When the vet checked her out, we learned that she was almost a year old, based on her teeth. She weighs just under 7 lbs. our other cat is a 20 lb monster.

Beautiful! I wasn't quite sure what to expect when you cited Dita Von Teese so i make sure no one was looking over my shoulder as I opened your post he he.

I love this style dress, so flattering and feminine and I find it very modern too.

The dress looks great on you! Thanks for including the inspiration photo! (I wasn't sure who Dita von Teese was, either, Deb! ha ha) Your red nails are so pretty, too.
You could also go with a scarf that had a touch of black in it. I like the shoes; they look really nice on your legs, and the dress is a good length on you.
