WIW....Inspired by Angie

Angie is an inspiration to us all with her positive kind genuine personality.....and her cheerful stylish polished WIW.

After three days of feeling sorry for myself and flat (for no real reason except for the one we all have) I decided to take Angie's approach and dress in light clear colours and jeans.

I wanted to wear my Mum's pearls and put them on and then realised the latch was broken so have put them aside for repair at some stage.

Crazy lockdown hair and light blue house sneakers.

Thanks Angie for everything!!

I LOVE this look! KILLER at home vibe.....or any vibe. Those white jeans are the bomb. What a fab fit! And the sneakers are delicious. Gorgeous shade of light blue. I bet they will work well with your earth tones too. With white in the mix.

Suntiger - great idea and I will take the bag thanks Angie!! In all truth I am not using a bag right now as my walks are alone and I have no need for a bag to carry anything. Looking forward to needing one again!!

This is so kind, and so true. And your outfit is terrific Those jeans are fantastic. And the whole effect is casually elegant yet honest about how you are spending your day.

So glad you are feeling a bit more upbeat today. I think each of us will have some very up and down periods and all we can do is take it one moment at a time. At least, that is what I am telling myself. And I aim for my 1,2,3.

1. Do one small task each day that I can complete and that gives a feeling of mastery. (Could be anything from cleaning a cupboard to baking cookies to completing exercise class to completing a work project.

2. Find joy -- the birdsong, clear air, good meal, a chapter of a good book, music -- again, just a moment, and just try to notice it.

3. Talk to a friend.

I don't always manage to hit all three but it does help me when I think in those terms.

Slimcat- the Allbird sneakers are great for house shoes. I will likely get another pair in due course - I do love a white sole on a sneaker.

Thanks Suz - yes that is a good approach and one day at a time is all we can do. My current project is photos - sorting out all my stored ones and then to scan in older ones. It is job that I have put off for a while but quite enjoying it now:)

I couldn't agree more. It's such a trying time and I can so relate to the ups and downs. Sometimes it does help just to get dressed. You look so pretty in these soft pastels. Very calming and modern look. The pearls are the perfect accessory. Love this!!

Sal, I have been feeling like this too. I have nothing to complain about, but I just miss the fun and variety of my 'usual' life. I love Suz's recipe for beating the blues. Thanks for posting, as I think it is comforting to know that we are not alone in this.

Your outfit is lovely and very much Angie inspired - white jeans, a pretty sweater and pearls makes for a FAB and cheerful outfit.

Thank you for posting. I have been having those emotionally flat times where it is hard to be interested in things. More vitamin D, from the sun, seems to help. Anyway, you look great and very inspiring!

Well you look great. Impossible not to when using Angie for inspiration.

Even though I haven’t lost my job (yet), and am not an overworked essential worker, I’ve also been feeling down. Things are so grim and uncertain. But I am feeling cautiously optimistic that our government is taking the right approach. NZ seems to be on top of things too. Watching the news from around the globe, I think we are some of the lucky ones.

Thanks all - I liked this and I will repeat again. I tend to not wear this many light colours at once so it was good to give it a go and feel comfortable doing so.

Brooklyn, Anne and Bijou - I do very feel grateful to be here. Island nations have it a bit easier right now. Australia and NZ are both doing well.

We are likely to go to Level 3 next week which means we can open work up a bit more ( but many still working from home), get takeaways and do online shopping. And maybe house painting can start!!

But my sons will still be learning online, no contact with friends really, no gyms or pools or playgrounds or cafe open.....or hair salons!!

Lovely, Sally. I especially like the pale blue sneakers. Angie’s Furla would indeed go well.
I like wearing my Mum’s jewellery too. I actually have pearls she gave me when I was a child that I still wear occasionally. I wore them on my wedding day also.
I am a bit sad too. I am missing my best friend, texts and Messenger and even calls are not the same. I want to share a drink and a laugh together.

I understand feeling up/down/flat. Horrified for everyone losing someone or livelihood. And my Mom just died in January and it involved sudden double pneumonia and hypoxemia etc, so these horrible times are just echoing what she went through.

Angie’s outfits are one of my small, daily joys, and now, yours too! We are not on quite as tight a lockdown as you’ve been, and it’s still wearing on me. I ordered boxes of candy and popcorn with my groceries this week and we’re going to rent a new release and pretend we’re going to a Sunday matinee this afternoon. Why yes, I AM feeling a little stir crazy.
