WIW...grocery shopping & #dressupfriday

It’s been a fortnight since the last test of fortitude known as ‘grocery shopping’ and we need fresh fruit and veg. (Lemon meringue pie does not protect one from scurvy - no matter what DH believes.) Cool and rainy and I’m having a bad hair day, so not in a good mood! Channeling Illya Kuryakin (Man From U.N.C.L.E.) for the task. Changed things up for #dressupfriday. We will have something extra nice for dinner, since I scored some lovely scallops while shopping.

Love your metallic top in your dressy outfit - nonchalant chic!
Blue mask and grasses look great together - all attention to the pretty eyes. Hair is doing it's own thing - no need to fight it on a rainy day

We have also run out of fresh fruit and salad stuff. 2 weeks in since the last grocery shop, and going strong another week. We are on Team DH. Apple cake counts as fruit...

Grocery shopping is definitely a test of fortitude these days, you look perfectly suited for it! What better for combat boots?!

Well, I am in favour of the all-black look. Your hair looks amazing in the undone style. We just picked up our produce order.

Illya certainly rocked that look. I had forgotten how much I liked him. Mr. SF wears a black T-neck and black jeans every day. I jokingly call it his Johnny Cash look. Now I will call it the Illya/Johnny look. Two greats.

@CarolS - the trick is form a tight seal over the nose by pressing the wire firmly over the nose. I’ve become used to wearing a mask quite quickly, but I like to pull the bed covers up over my nose when I sleep. DH says it is akin to a cat who puts a paw over it’s nose. I find it comforting!

Gotta say I had a crush on David McCallum ‘back in the day’. The 2015 ‘Man From U.N.C.L.E.’ remake is a lot of fun, and the fashion is AMAZING! Fun movie!

I love the shiny top - looks like it would be a good 'going out' top, since it strikes a balance between dressy without being too formal.

Fiercely Fabulous! I know what you mean about the semi monthly shop. DH usually does ours as he also visits is elderly mom and brings her food, but I went with him last week while my car was being serviced. Utterly terrifying. It was before Costco announced their new mask requirement, and I was amazed at how many people weren't wearing them. I'll be making the switch to frozen veggies soon.

My citrus tip - I buy bags of lemons and limes. I keep them in the fridge to use fresh - then about a week later, I wash, zest, and juice any remaining and put them into a plastic ice cube tray for freezing. Then I put them in labeled freezer bags and have little single portions that I pull out as needed when I'm out of fresh. Saving the zest is key - it adds such a punch.

I go on a masked grocery mission weekly because I can't do without salad. It's good to look like a secret agent tho (I always had a little thing for Kuryakin).
