The last couple of days I've been enjoying pearls. Here are a couple of examples. Too much in the first outfit? Are the sweaters too short?
In the second outfit I turned the blouse collar in so it didn't interfere with the pearls. Does this look odd? Later I changed the ivory under layer for my asymmetrical EF bone silk tank and liked the result better but did not get a photo. Is the shawl collar sweater too old?

Look at how pretty those pale pink pearl layers are. Fun bookending with the shoes, Joy. Not too much - Maximal is the way to go in 2016, actually. I do find the pink sweater a little short and tight though.

Try opening the collar and wearing the pearls inside the regular shape of the collar.

I bet the asymmetrical tank was great in #5. Do snap a pic next time if you can.

Admittedly the pink sweater is too short, but grey and pink and the pile of pearls is lovely on you.

Thank you, Angie and columbine. I think I will change the sweater before going out, but keep the pearls. Both sweaters were thrift store finds, so no big loss. Thank you for the suggestions, Angie.

I love the pile of pears in 1 and 2--nicely done! I think the sweaters would work better with other tops. Maybe try the pink sweater with a longer, flowy tank underneath it. And do you have a pink shell or tee to wear under the gray sweater in place of the pink cabled sweater?
I like the idea of turning the collar in on the blouse, but it looks like it wants to creep back out--seems like the kind of thing that I would be checking all day. I like Angie's idea of wearing the pearls inside the collar, and I like how they look with the outfit. I don't find the shawl collar sweater old-looking, and I really like the color on you.

Joyce, that necklace belonged to my mother, probably from the 50's.
Sharan, you are so observant and helpful. I have almost no pink, especially this pale pink, but am surprised to like it near my face. I may need to look for a shell or tee. I'm glad the shawl collared sweater looks ok yet. I like the color and fit.

Pile of pears in 1 and 2 are very nice and you can wear them with so different sweaters, I agree with you to change it maybe even not pink, that is only my honest opinion

For Firecracker: I found a dark blush tee and tried it under the pink sweater. Photos at top. Better?

I love your pearls in #1 SO much! And knowing that one necklace was your mother's is so sweet. The shell underneath in #6 & 7 extends the short pink sweater for my eye and it really does look better with it. I also like the later version with the ivory blouse. You inspire me, Joy.

Olga and Sheila, thank you for addressing the changes. I was much more comfortable with the longer tee under that short sweater.
