WIW....casual Friday and my first denim jacket, ever!

The shopping fast is officially over! The closet has been sorted for the most part, and I have a pretty good idea of where I need to go with my style quest.

Shopping for white jeans has been frustrating. Lots of white that is either too short, or too tight (skinny jeans). Then I happened upon this white jean jacket! I've never owned a jean jacket, figuring the boxy style wouldn't work with my shape. This jacket fits beautifully when buttoned up, though I will mostly wear it open. It goes with loads of things in my existing wardrobe. I think it will be a workhorse, if I can keep it clean!

Your jacket looks great on you, and is sure to become a workhorse in your wardrobe. And the great thing with white cotton is that if you get a spot on it, a little bleach works wonders.

Pil, I agree. I'm on the hunt for some nice quality t's, but haven't found any. Picked up 2 basic white t's that I wouldn't wear unless they are under something, they are so boxy.

Nicole, I have so few resources in my community I leave no sartorial stone unturned. Sears is upscale for this blue collar mining town!

Bj1111, Rieker shoes, the last pair at the one independent shoe store we have in our tiny downtown. The basement is the sale stuff. These were probably last years, or maybe even the year before!

Parsley, so much of what I'm wearing is due to reading Angie's blogs and following the Forum posts. Before YLF, I would never have bought white shoes or tried the jacket. The belt was specifically sourced out after admiring so many light snake skin belts on Fabbers.

So you see, I am learning!

Runcarla, I like JCrew's tees. Though I am not wearing tees much these days, the few that I do wear are all from JCrew. They do work especially well for rectangles as their fit model is a rectangle! I'm an IT+hourglass, so I get a very breezy fit with them

Love this! The white elements light up your face and suit your coloring. You have a good sense of fit and proportion going on here, and I love the details in the booties and belt.

I buy a pair of Hanes V-necks every Summer. I've sized up this year, for a little slouch and semi-tuck action. I'm also looking for better quality t's too!

The jacket is Fab! The whole look is great, and I really liked the whites shoes. I agree with aida that jcrew has great T's, but I also really like target for everyday basics.

One of our local stores is carrying those Rieker shoes but unfortunately only in taupe and black. I did try them on though and was thrilled with how comfortable they are.
