WIW...another shirt-dress!

This one is a little short - great as a weekend sundress, but needs a trouser for propriety at work. The tunic is lovely 100% cotton, with what looks like hand stitching at armholes, neck, and hem. The check meets perfectly at the back. This is something considering it has French seams!

I love this over pants! I prefer it sans jacket, as the jacket seems to overwhelm it. Lovely outfit. Doesn't it feel good to wear something that is so well made?

Ooh great dress/tunic, and fun to hear that it's got such good construction details. Also prefer the no-jacket version for the clean lines but certainly get needing to have the jacket for parts of the day. Do you have a navy jacket? I think you'd get a similar clean look with that over the white, if you wanted a lower-contrast option. Totally adore the sandals and they work really well here.

This is fantastic on you! Did you get it at the same time/ place as the other one? The windowpane check is lovely and how great to hear it is well made. Like the others, I prefer the version without the jacket but I understand the need for a topper in the AC.

Hey! Thanks, Angie. My first 'killer'. And FWIW, I agree -#2 was a 10 happiness factor. The jacket was only for the am commute, and around 3pm, which for some reason is when the office A/C goes into overdrive.

Suz - I got THREE shirt-dresses at Winners during my shopping trip. The third is linen, Herve Benard, and has long sleeves. The colour is blue-grey. I will post a WIW when I wear it.

You are the shirt dress Queen Carla! I love this one even more than the solid blue you posted previously. Absolutely gorgeous. Works well both with and without the jacket but of course, it shines better without.

Short is a matter of opinion. I am of the opinion that anything longer than your fingertips when standing is appropriate. Excess fabric hampers movement and is not as comfortable. Zippers are quicker than all of those buttons. Slip over the head is still better, in my opinion.
