Ramya, I'm coming here after reading your other thread about the style rut. Btw, we are cardigan twins (I have navy and black) and Amy has one in burgundy too.
To me this outfit works exactly because you wear the dark boots. They bookend your hair much better and create overall balanced effect. This way things to my eye look 'grounded', which as a fellow pear I personally pay a lot of attention to - I make sure my shoes have solid soles, not paper thin ones. It might be a personal thing, but I have a feeling my pearfect hips call for that specific visual effect.
The jeans look great tucked into boots. They also look relaxed on you, another good point of this outfit. With the cardigan's rounded hem the whole thing works I think you can play with this. Try different tops - maybe not button downs but some plain tees with different necklines (I have a feeling V-neck might not work, but that is my own personal exclusion), colours, fabrics (not sure if the heavy cardigan is the happiest match with cotton-y top) and play with tucking in, exposing or not the belt, etc. But, the proportions as here and untucked top look great. It's just fine tuning the details.
I like your hair, btw. Again, pEarfectly speaking, we need a nice bouncy action at the top to balance things from the bottom, ifyouknowwhatimean. I know you keep calling your hair unruly, but it may just be the case of the climate + cut + products that need investigating so you can make peace with your gorgeous curls.
