Thanks all! I think the hit of red in #3 and #4 is what people liked, though up close the coat is an interesting pattern of black and brown that looks like alligator skin...only heavy carpet bag type fabric, and it has an off center button closure.
Rachylou...my last pair of Sorels were actually hand me downs from one of the boys (when they grew out of them). I think combined, we got 8 years out of them. I don't think anyone who wears them actually lifts their feet up!! The walk is more like a drag-your-feet-shuffle kind of thing with a very distinctive sound. Note: there are fashion Sorels (everywhere since their appearance in 'Hunger Games'.) They are of a more slim styling and NOT weather rated. Then, there are the 'gear' Sorels which have the replaceable felt liners and ARE weather rated. (Mine are #4 below - the 1964 PAC - rated for -32 deg C). Bulkier, but they do the job. They run around $100-150. The names this year are fun: Joan of Arctic, Conquest Carly, etc.
