WIW...a silk scarf experiment.

I identified a wardrobe hole while looking at pics of my red jacket outfits and figured I needed a silk square rather than my old standby pashminas.

Shopping the usual B+M stores resulted in a bust so I visited a local thrift shop - "My Sister's Closet" - and found exactly what I wanted! $2.50 later I left with my score - a 36 inch scarf. The label says 100% silk.

It is soft and warm around my neck, but oh! so light and elegant feeling.

Excellent! Yes, I have quite a few, almost all bought from consignment shops. One is a Liberty scarf inherited from my grandmother (no one in my family likes fashion at all, so it was a surprise to find something special like that), and one I bought recently, but otherwise they're all thrifted. I use them to keep the sun off my neck in the summer.

You found a color that looks so good on you. Also the scarf is perfect for spring. I'm looking for scarves. I don't like wearing them like you did (and looks perfect on you) because it feels to much on me. I don't know really. I like a scarf to hang loose. Or one end in front and one end in back. I generally don't wear this shape scarf, and go for rectangles. But I did recently get this silk scarf from BR, which I've worn a few times with my COS dress. I do struggle with how to tie it, and love how you've done yours here. Next time mine comes out will be with navy leather jacket and white jeans

I wear square silk scarves especially in Spring. Useful for sudden temperature fluctuations and for adding a pop of colour.

Wow wow and wow! “To the manor born” look but oh so modern with the white jeans and shoes. I have a couple of square silk scarves from a long time ago, when they were more on style. I’ve been a scarf collector as long as I can remember and rarely get rid of them. I’ll have to use this outfit for inspiration!

What a great scarf!! Perfect colours for your outfits. I have one silk square scarf that I bought at a consignment store in Florida and one silk Liberty square scarf that is blue (it was a present and I tend not to wear blue).
