1) Wore Friday to run errands and pizza dinner at Sam's Club. : ) Channeling Rae here with the cropped denim over column of dark with boots. Details: bronze hoop earrings, black and grey striped tee, denim vest (Territory Ahead - 2012), Talbots Heritage fit bootcuts (2011), milky black boots (thrifted 2012)

2-3) Finally was able to try an orange and pink combo even though it was a baby step trial. LOL! Hubby and I went to see a small theatre production of "Murder On The Nile." So fun! I figured out who did it by the end of the second act! Brought my 3-D scarf in case of AC chill and the 2 pouch wristlet was the perfect size for my essentials! Details: gold stud earrings, Mossimo cream/hot pink/black sheath dress (thrifted - 2012), black and gold-tone beaded necklace (thrifted - 2012), orange Calvin Klein wedges (Marshalls - 2012), 3-D scarf (Compass Trading - 2011), gold and black Jennifer Lopez wristlet (Kohl's 2012).

4-5) Wore to church. The turquoise earrings gave it a Southwest vibe, but I couldn't figure out what type of purse to bring. Pressed for time, I just chose my black default. These shoes are admittedly too high for me, so after church, before heading out to lunch, I changed into the heeled gladiators. Which do you prefer? Details: turquoise earrings (Fashion Bug), denim vest (Territory Ahead - 2012), blush pink dress (Downeast Basics via Compass Trading - 2011), grey braided belt (Old Navy - 2011), grey platform peep-toes (Target - 2010?), tan heeled gladiators (Ross - 2010)

Your tonal column with denim vest is simple and casual done well. And look at the vest with the dress - what a versatile thing that has been. It's too bad the grey platforms are not comfortable because it's a great looking shoe. The glad sandals work well though and really, you need to be able to function in a shoe I suppose lol.

Cute little bag - I saw the JL line at Kohls this week and must say some of it was quite cute. I expected major bling and flash I guess.

Where have you been hiding your personal stylist? I do declare, your outfits look like they come out of the pages of a magazine!

The dress outfit in 2/3 is simply beautiful and suits you to perfection. You look so good in dresses. I love the simplicity of #1, the tonal dressing sends me over the top. As for the prairie inspired outfit for church in 4/5, I like it better with the gladiators, they suit the vibe of the denim vest.

AJ, you can do no wrong in my book!!! From casual to theater to church, you dress in a way that is so put-together and very much your own, being so stylish and very feminine in every setting.

I love the 3-D (why is it called that?) scarf you took to the play and it's wrapped beautifully. Glad you and Hubs had fun! You are looking so svelte and toned in all your photos! As for the shoes, I'm voting for the gladiators. They caught my eyes immediately and I loved them in #5.

@christieanne - Yes, I do like the way those grey heels look....that's why it still sits in my closet for the occasional up at bat. : P This "dirty" denim vest has been more versatile than I thought. Just as Angie had told me, as long as I keep the rest of the pieces tonal, the vest will work. She's a genius!! Yes, the JL line had some really cute stuff.

@cocolion - I have a whole forum of personal stylists! The things I learn here fuel my fashion passion! Before YLF, I would have said that I look better in pants. This place has influenced me in so many ways! : )

@vicki - I call it my 3-D scarf because of the circles that are cut 3/4 of the way and add fun movement and texture. I wish it came in other colors. You are very kind about the "toned" remarks. The way my body works, I call it the "slim before the flood" phase if you know what I mean. Soon it will be bloat city! Blah! (TMI?)

AJ, the tonal column of blues is so wonderful on you. Simple, strong, elegant even though casual. Gorgeous. And yes, I'm so glad Angie weighed in, in favour of that vest! It is clearly working well for you.

The other looks are also fab! You are building a shoe collection to rival your amazing boot collection. I have belt envy over that grey braided belt!

#2/3 is just stunning. That dress is beautiful on you and your styling is perfection.

#4/5 is a fab outfit. I prefer the shoes in 4 but both work very well.

You really know what works on you AJ and I have never seen you not rock a look.

AJ -- Terrific WIW, as usual. The theater outfit is my favorite, but then I'm a sucker for a pretty dress. Beautiful. I prefer the gladiators in the last outfit -- which must mean I'm breaking free of the matching-gene!

Angie, if you have a moment, does the denim vest work with the dress? I was a little unsure about the capped sleeve of the dress with the vest.

i like the vest with both the dress and the jeans! and since you asked, i like the gladiators best. i think the vest is a fun little piece. and i agree, you outfits are always great! i love the bold black necklace and bright shoes with the dress in 2/3.

I'm trying to decide if a denim vest would be a good choice for me instead of a denim jacket. It's a matter of finding the right one, though, since it's a very Alaskan casual look in certain incarnations...

I love the tonal outfit in #1 with the vest because you look so tall and sleek! #2 is such a beautiful dress on you and I love the shoes and the way you tied your wrap! The vest works surprisingly well in #4-5. The dress is so feminine and the vest sort of "toughens" it up a little and the gladiator sandals are great with it.

Looking good as usual AJ! These are ALL fab but I super adore #2 (LOVE pink and orange together!) and the gladiators in #5 (what fun sandals!).

That vest is wonderful in all versions. The dress is great too. I sort of prefer the gladiators but it just gives it a more casual look, the sling backs are more dressy.

@meredith - I look tall in #1 because those jeans are long and I need to wear at least 2 1/2 inch heels with them. : )
