I, too, worry about a few things I've said to my DSs' over the years. I always hope on balance I've done okay.

Tulle, when I came out of the dressing room at Nordstrom's, and my friend Wendy (who knew and loved my mother too) came out of hers, I couldn't help but smile and say, "I know I look like a sack of potatoes, but I love this dress, and I'm buying it!" Of course the sales associate chimed in with "But you don't look anything like a sack of potatoes!"

Love all of these! My favorites are #1 and #4. Love that dress and the floaty top is great. I want one!

#2 is fantastic on you! I also like the sack dress for a summer day, and it sounds like it makes you think of your mother fondly, whilst sticking to your own aesthetic. Win-win!
