As Dee has already mentioned in her post, it is already summer here in DC area, and May has just begun! I was hoping that it might be just a temporary heat wave, but the forecast shows the opposite. True spring has decided to simply skip us this year.
While I love to use a vest as a third piece in the hot weather, the sudden arrival of the summer has caught me mentally unprepared, so I haven't had the energy to make vests work yet. Instead, I stuck to simple 2-piece outfits. I tried to add interest through interesting shoes, bags and belts, semi-tucking, and occasional color or pattern; all the time while following the rules of covered toes and legs. Here are the outfits:

#1, Saturday 5/2: worn for casual errands, and another take on Angie's most recent ensemble formula of http://youlookfab.com/2015/04/.....blue-gold/. I combined a light blue J Crew linen sweater with old coral H&M shorts. The accessories were a gold-studded cognac Gap belt, leopard DVF slipper flats with gold back and burnished gold clutch.
#2, Sunday 5/3: worn in the evening when it cooled off a little to go over to a friend's place. Black sheer striped Loft pullover, Rock&Republic tuxedo relaxed skinnies, and matching Nine West taupe zebra belt and pointy flats.
#3, Monday 5/4 work: I combined a pink kitty silk Sandro blouse with TR Briannas, with stone accessories: Fossil perforated belt, All Black pointy mini wedges and new BR satchel.
#4, Tuesday 5/5 work: I went for a slightly warmer outfit as I was spending the whole day in a very cold room. J Crew orchid linen sweater, COH Racer skinnies, white studded J Crew belt and white Munro loafers, with the same BR satchel.
#5, Wednesday 5/6 work: a little bit of waist definition for a change. H&M teal peplum top and 7FAMK cream skinnies, with the addition of cream Kooba bag, tan ankle strap DV flats and teal patterned silk scarf.
#6: Thursday 6/6 work: cool neutrals in Helmut Lang mixed media top with grey Gap linen pants. Added grey ankle strap suede Madewell wedges, silver J Crew belt and silver RM satchel.

As always, all the comments and suggestions are welcome!
