WIW X 2 in grey: BFs and quilted sweatshirt, EF tunic and skinnies

1) weekend outfit. Gap BFs, quilted sweatshirt from F21. F21 has some surprisingly nice items right now, including this sweatshirt which feels like it's made from the same material as my Helmut Lang sweatshirt jacket, but for $19.99. I saw an SA at Nordstrom wearing the same one!

2) to work. EF tunic, Kut ponte skinnies, Gidigio boots, Old Navy necklace. I'm not sure EF gets me (Shannon!). This is a fantastically comfy tunic and seems like it should work for me, but I feel like EF isn't cut for ITs. I do think it will be a versatile top though. It's a petite S. Do you think the fit is okay?

I like both outfits Una! That sweatshirt looks really fun from what I can tell. Is it quilted? The tunic looks good to me, though a different feel than how it looks on the model. As a fellow IT I'd be wary of this tunic unless it had some waist shaping, but it looks really good over the skinnies (and I like that they are skinnies).

Yeah, it almost looks pinned on the model! I may try a cropped jacket over it...

The sweatshirt is quilted and has a really fun texture - like jellied cotton. Can't really explain!

Jellied cotton sounds awesome! Hmmmm I wonder if my F21 has it in. I'll be near there later this week, I'll have to check. I like the idea of a cropped jacket over the tunic. What about your cool silvery cropped moto (which I still totally adore)?

That is possible but not to work, sadly! Will have to roam about in closet and experiment.

The other thing is the sizing at F21 has changed - I used to be at least a M, now I'm in S or XS. Maybe it's the oversized trend because I'm certainly not shrinking!

I like both, too! I really like the boots with the tunic. And the weekend look is comfortably, effortlessly stylish. Nicely done.

Both outfits look good! Once in a while I see a F21 piece that is remarkable. This always makes me a bit nervous actually given the price.

I seem to be focused on proportion these days so I noticed that you are using the 1/3 to 2/3 split in both but in the opposite way. I really like both looks.

Una - I've had that tunic in my cart at Nordies for several weeks. I am looking to add more gray tunics and toppers. I think it looks really great on you. What don't you like about it? I was thinking, if I got it, trying it with a low hip belt but not sure how that would work with the side splits. I would also wear a long topper about the same length over it, but otherwise boots/booties, leggings identical thoughts. I really really like this look on you, and it looks like a really good fit, but you need to feel good in it!!

Una, I bought a similar top in white at F21 in the spring. It is a favorite, so comfortable, looks polished enough for my casual life, and can be paired with almost everything in my closet. I decided to wear it today and may stop by F21 near me to see if I can pick up another! Thanks for the reminder that this top is a workhorse!

You look great in both photos. It is uncanny that on Sunday I was dressed very similarly to the second photo and on Tuesday very similarly to the first. Style sisters! High five alaskagirl! I love your style.

Una, I really have to stop looking at your WIWs. MUST. Although .... you are sending me out for some low-priced really nice casual wear. Like the ON tee, and now the F21 sweatshirt! Who would have thought??? I am going to have to give that a try. I absolutely froze on the plane yesterday. Wish I had had this on!

I like both looks, but especially the first one - totally my thing! I agree about F21 - I was in there on Monday and picked up these cropped crossover sweats in the style of those R13's. As it turns out, they are going back - my kids laughed and said I looked like I was wearing diapers (ok, took some photos and I do), and secondly, I do believe sizing has changed. I'm also always a medium, which I bought, but they seem quite large. Same with a cropped sweater I tried on in medium - too big. That NEVER happens at F21 for me. Maybe I'll watch for that grey sweatshirt since they only do exchanges....

Gryffin, I do like it - I'm just not sure how much it does for me. I'm not sure how EF items can look so spectacular on Shannon and others here and so ordinary on me. The fabric and feel do make a difference and can't be seen in a photo, of course. Anyway, it's more basic than I expected, but I think it will be part of the 6 - 2:30 comfort wear work capsule, which was my main goal.

A belt would be great if I had a waist to belt!

It is lightweight and drapey, not a sweater at all, just FYI.

I love the way your work outfit is so un-corporate. It's a less conventional legal profession look but the materials and style command respect, so it works.

The proportions in #1 are so flattering on you Una. Thanks for the F21 quilted sweatshirt Find. Luckily they are sold out of the cream color so I'm safe.

Did you try this tunic with a long pendant to accentuate the vertical line? Also, and this is from the rectangular waistless division. I can't wear belts at my waist - I mean it's sausage and casing city - not pretty. I meant a hip belt like my dkny below. Best if the color matches the tunic with a clasp that is centered and hangs slightly lower, you will all of a sudden find your inner hourglass, you create the illusion even if you are straight through the middle like I am - at least this really works for me!! I think Shannon could be the fit model for EF, but if you look at many of her necklines (esp THE dress, it's a high drapey cowl neck, that is the most uber flattering neckline ever, but I could not fill out the rest of the dress, but I have a tunic with a similiar neckline and I wear it until it has holes and is in pieces). Don't know if that helps but that's my take from the waistless rectangles perspective!!
