Here are the considerations for today's outfit:
1) Even though after two months I'm kind of sick of them, I prefer to wear these black and white Reebok Crossfit Nano 2.0s as long as I'm still shaky on my feet, whether I'm limping along or using one crutch. (Broke my right femur two months ago--had titanium hardware installed in my thigh.) I got these shoes for weight-lifting, so they're ideal for stability.
2) The weather is very warm, but air-conditioned interiors can be chilly.
3) I was meeting a friend for lunch, but immediately after that I had to go to physical therapy, where I'm doing all sorts of exercises and having my leg stretched back behind me while lying on my side on a table.
So I put on a J. Crew tank dress in a modal/polyester blend--seen in photo one. Then I realized I had to wear athletic shorts underneath because of physical therapy--in the second photo you might see a bit of a bulge. I took a sweater just in case--photo three. When I got to physical therapy, I thought it would be easier if my therapist didn't worry about exposure, so I just reached down and tied my dress up into a tank top--photo four. By the way, this dress does not wrinkle--all of these photos are after I wore it tied in a knot for an hour.
Any fashion tips for styling these athletic shoes would be appreciated. I may start to alternate them with some very stable Teva-like sandals, but I'm probably not branching out further than that for a few weeks. I guess I need to go athleisure.
