Dear Fabbers, thank you for your encouragement earlier this week. Here are outfits for the latter part of this week. The outfits comprise flowing black culottes with a white shirt on Wednesday; navy dress bought in Scotland on holiday last year and navy jacket on Thursday; and then, longer culottes Friday, navy shirt and jacket.

Wed and Thu I am happy with, today's not so happy with. The jacket isn't quite right, but I like my necklace! The navy dress with the integral necklace has been a good buy. It goes in the washing machine, doesn't crease, is comfortable.

The lace ups are Paul Green (thank you Janet for the recommendation some time back), so super comfy, and they have small sparkles. I can walk all day in them, which is great as I can end up walking a lot for work. And I like to walk to and from the train station. Coming into work I sometimes wear a scarf (Thursday) or a poncho.

It has been so helpful posting outfits and receiving feedback; I hadn't quite appreciated how worthwhile it is. Thank you for looking and all comments most welcome.

Thanks for indulging us, it's a treat to see your elegant work outfits, it's really inspiring. I can't rock a skirt or dress like you do, but it encourages me to try for more polish and formality at work.

You even look elegant in a poncho!
You own beautiful jewellery and you really know how to style it.

I think the jacket #11 is too masculine for your style, maybe that's why you didn't feel good in it. It fits, but I don't think it suits you.

Another smashing black and white look #1, the v-neck of your blouse is so chic.

#12 is my favourite : you look absolutely adorable. I love, love this outfit on you.

Thank you lovely ladies. Apologies for not having responded sooner. Skylurker, the dress is so comfortable and I generally feel very good in it. I think the jacket in 11 is not so good. I suspect it may not be in my wardrobe too much longer.

I am definitely missing pattern in my work wardrobe JAileen. I prefer texture and detailing, to pattern at work. I also tend to go for flowery prints, rather than graphics.

Thank you Angie for saying that the scarf is good against my skin tone - good to know. I am pleased you like the narrower leg culottes - I do too.

Jane, your posts are such a treat. I like it all but favorites are 10-11 and 12. I also like texture over print, especially in a low contrast or single color outfit. Some small prints can function as a texture, like snake patterns or small geometrics.

I can never pick a favorite when you post - all your outfits are so perfect.
Those oxfords with sparkles are FAB!

Hi Jane I haven't commented before but have really enjoyed all your recent posts, loving your culottes outfits and your white tops/black bottoms ones. All look elegant and this week I do love the navy dress too. And the shoes with tiny sparkles!
I do slightly wonder about the black pumps. I see from your profile you are a Chartered Surveyor. The pumps look a bit more secretarial or lawyerly to me, and maybe not quite as much in fashion? ( I know they have never gone out of fashion as such). I wondered if you might want to consider shoes that are a little more edgy in detail while still fitting with a feminine style?
This is just a thought and I'm no stylist but until recently I had 52 pairs of shoes. Recently down to 49 with some culling

Hi jenni, that is a good suggestion, thank you so much. They are a bit plain it has to be said! I have two pairs of work shoes basically, they are pretty much sitting shoes. I can walk abit in them outside, may be 1,000 footsteps on a pavement but no more! Being a surveyor I go out of the office a lot, generally with taller people who have long legs, who walk quicker!! I keep my sitting shoes under my desk, and change in and out of them. I do find it slightly embarrassing to change my shoes in front of my colleagues (3 really nice younger guys) but I am usually in a rush, so accept that at least I can change quickly.

So, I've looked at some other shoes but to keep less pairs under my desk is important. Carrying the shoes to and from the office is too much for me I think. I carry a lot of stuff as I study on the train. I don't know, may be I will give it more thought.
