Dear Fabbers, I have had a very quiet couple of months, as I knuckled down and got through the last 8 weeks or so of my MBA.

I thought you might like to see these photos from a recent work thing. The clothes weren't mine, and were actually quite large, so were pinned at the back. But it was nice to have some professional photos taken. I didn't keep any of the clothes, as they were toooo big!

I have also just had a good clear out of my wardrobe. I feel slightly down about the amount of stuff that I thought I had carefully chosen, but have given away to charity shops. I was even 'rewarded' by the nice guy who sorts through the clothes, saying that always gave such good quality items. Eek!

I'm resolved to not buy any items of clothing until 27 March (results day for the MBA).

I commiserate in wardrobe mistakes. I am still making my share of them. Have to remind myself I’m not desperate and avoid getting in a hurry. Still I get something from time to time that seemed so rght even trying on at home, and then later, what was I thinking? So wonder if there’s some mood thing going on.

You look lovely.I also feel your pain re wardrobe mistakes.It s very easy to do isn’t it ?,you love something in the shop but then never end up wearing it and can’t always say why.At least by passing them onto charity shops you are giving them a new life in somebody else’s wardrobe and better this than languishing unworn at the back of yours.Fingers crossed for the MBA.

Hi Jane congrats on finishing the degree! I so admire Mums who get another degree ( and Dads). Would so eat into your relaxing time.
Have missed you. You really glow in that red dress in pic 3, need to buy that colour!
And I still make mistakes too and donated an unworn pair of high black patent heels ( court shoes) to the hospice shop last year. They had been reduced from $300 to $75 which is why I had bought them a few years back ( sales goggles) but neither myself or mid 20s daughter with same size feet could walk in them. I put a note in the box with all that info for the hospice so they hopefully made a good profit on them!
Just reviewed all my clothing lists yesterday ( very wet and cooler summer Saturday). Since YLF I am doing a lot better and need to do a proper post. I'm sure there are still some errors I am making.

Your photos are lovely, Jane. Congratulations! I don't know if sharing the hurt actually lessens it, but I feel a wave of hubris every time I think back to wardrobe posts I've made. For every time I've laid out the legit-sounding reasons behind purchases that are later donated, little-worn-- aarrgh....it's embarrassing! But, even thoughtful culling probably represents a step forward in terms of honing our self knowledge and style savvy. (That's what I keep telling myself, anyway )

Gorgeous photos and congratulations on finishing your MBA. We all make these types of mistakes. I have just been philosophical about it and think at least the charity will make some money from my mistakes.

The main thing is to not beat yourself up over it, but analyse why the mistake happened and how to avoid it. Like Jenni, sales goggles have resulted in mistakes for me too, now I am incredibly wary of items on sale unless it is something that I have loved, but not purchased because I was waiting for it to go on sale.

With the best will in the world we all make shopping mistakes-the expensive ones hurt the most but actually they will find a good home, it is the cheap ones that wear out quickly that are actually worse but seem less painful.
