WIW: woolly tights - YouLookFab Forum

I've had these tights (hose, stockings..? I never know the different meanings in English!) for years but struggle to find outfits that I feel work with them. Perhaps this is ok? (Please ignore the hair, I'm actually at the hairdresser now about to get it cut!)

Grey woollen tights, black skirt, grey top, black long cardi, gold necklace and brown suede shoes.

Afterwards I thought that a brown narrow belt could be a nice detail to tie in the shoes. Maybe instead of the necklace? But what are your (honest!) thoughts about the whole outfit, and the tights in particular? Any other ideas of what to wear with them, or should I just toss them..?

(If anyone remembers my conundrum with the green jacket a couple of months ago I can let you know that I'm about to sell it off to someone through an online site. Decided it was too tricky to match it and not flattering enough. Thanks for all your input on that!)

Very nice tights and all outfit. As I like belts I vote for
brown narrow belt.

Hello this is a great fit actually. I like the pattern hose. It gives and added texture interest.

I feel as if a skinny belt would not work on this because the top is tucked.

I would have done a wide elastic waist belt in the same colorway as the boots.

You could change out the top for a blouse leave it untucked and wear a skinny belt.

These tights would go perfectly with a denim skirt or you could do a denim top a sweater over the top of the denim and a thin belt great preppy look if you add loafers.

I would do a spark of color in a sweater or a skirt something vivid.

You could also do a sweater dress or a statement necklace that echos the pattern of the pattern in the hose.

I like the tights and the outfit. I'd be tempted to find somewhere to add the boots' color. Maybe a necklace with a leather strap, or one of those wrap bracelets. Supplies for the strap are often at a craft stores, so It doesn't have to be expensive.

The new hair is awesome! All these undercuts lately are making me very jealous -- or inspired?

I think this outfit is splendid -- I love all-neutral ensembles. I'll echo the idea of adding a bit of tan leather somewhere else to tie in the boots -- which are very cool, btw. Either a belt, a handbag, or other accessory (watch, or wrist cuff?). Barbara Diane's idea of a leather cord for your necklace is brilliant.

And yes--if you can, echo the boot color somewhere else in the outfit. I struggle with (non-black) tights, too...surprisingly tricky.
