Hi guys- I just wanted to share this outfit and see what people think. I purchased this knitted waistcoat pretty much on a whim, with no real idea as to how I would style it. However I came up with this casual day look, and I felt really good in it.
Feed back and suggestions of other ways to style it appreciated! The shop assistant recommended wearing it over a very voluminous boho dress, however I presently don’t have one.

Really nice! Love this shade of grey, the little pocket and the buttons. It suits you very well! I like your styling with the jeans and the white top - classic. It might go nicely with your wide legged jeans too (or were they culottes?).

I would put a little colorful pocket square in the pocket, but do not know if you like that and a denim maxi skirt.

Adorable! I am a huge fan of sweater vests, especially button-up ones. Can think of lots of ways to wear this; I agree it could look very cute with wide-legs or culottes...

It would be fab with wide leg jeans or culottes, too, and a tucked top. I sometimes wear my sweater vest as a top under a jacket (mine is cotton, so it is not scratchy). I also like to wear it over a button front shirt or blouse. I don't wear it more than a few times per year but I have owned it for many years.

I agree, your sweater vest is super cute the way you have it styled. I like the necklace with it a lot. I am thinking you will find several other items to pair it with. Skirts, pants and over a dress. Buttoned or unbuttoned!

Thanks for looking. I appreciate the feedback. Ok, people have mentioned trying the waist coast with wide leg pants/culottes, skirts and dresses. Good ideas. I’ll give it a try with wide leg jeans and a skirt. Not a dress at this stage as my dress capsule is very tiny and nothing suitable I don’t think. Thank you all!

I agree with Suz = play up the menswear vibe, tuck in the top (or if you don't want to do that, wear a more voluminous top underneath that will look intentional untucked) and try some wide leg pants or culottes. A pair of flatform oxfords or brogues, and you're done !

I love vests! This one us really cute.
I like the suggestions so far.
Also if you have a flowy boho top you could wear it with that- keep a tonal look with top & pants or jeans and let the vest contrast. I sometimes wear a slightly fitted cardigan to reign in a flowy top for structure so it might work the same way.

I like others' styling suggestions too. What popped into my mind was to swap out the white tee for a patterned top, either knit or woven. And then a necklace that picks up some of the colors in the top.

I actually like it as you're wearing it with skinnies. I think I'd do anything with it that's unexpected (like others suggested with voluminous pants.) I also love the idea of wearing it over a flowy dress, but I probably wouldn't buy one just for the occasion.
