WIW: With Thanks to My Unsecret Santa Mochi!

Since we missed the annual YLF Secret Santa lovely Ornella kicked off, Mochi/Nancy and I decided to have a little holiday happiness of our own!

I was thrilled to see this beautiful, preciously handmade necklace, in the perfect length for me. With Czech glass, Venetian glass, Swarovski crystals and seed beads from the '20s, I feel like a million bucks and ready to take on the world in style!

Thank you for your beautiful gift, which I will treasure always, and on your next West Coast visit, I promise to wear it when we go shopping together!

I'm wearing my new turquoise high-low Ann Taylor sweater that is a nod to Angie and her beautiful birthday gift from Greg. I'm wearing it with black leather pants and my metallic Stuart Weitzman flats that share the beautiful colors of the necklace. I also plan to wear this sweater with some velvet pants, which are currently at the tailor's being altered.

In a separate posting, I'll be showing the necklace with a skirt I bought at F21.

Okay, Suz, you win the prize! You noticed the haircut and there's a huge story to it! Briefly, I went to a random person after Thanksgiving and she highlighted my hair in a way that looked dark and mousey IMHO (and that of a few others). So, off I went one Sunday to CVS and bought a "Frost & Tips" kit and my hubs (who'd done this years ago) pulled out practically every hair on my head. I literally could hardly pull the cap off and probably kept it on a bit too long (after having had my hair highlighted a week before!). Needless to say, there were "no" highlights. It was as if I'd been dipped in a bleach bottle!

Now what!? My hubs says he loves my hair super short, like Angie's and Ellen Degeneres. Off we go to his haircutter and this is the result. I do love it and it's so much easier to take care of, although it's a tad too blonde and bright. The guy cutting my hair said, after I'd suggested lowlights, "Highlights, lowlights, highlights; why don't we let it rest?" LOL. He was right.

That's the story and why my hair has gone through a few morphings with each WIW.

I noticed it was lighter, too, Vicki - and oh, I know what you mean. I've had some wild colour experiments, too! Well....if it took a colour misfortune to get you to a great cut, it's all in a good cause! And now that it is this short the bright blonde is just fun.

I love the fact that you have a cobalt blouse under a cobalt sweater. I think it's a genius layering concept because it draws attention to the different layers. NICE! I also love how the blouse lengthens with sweater without the bulk. I love this look on you. Bravo!
