WIW: "Winterized" tunic - YouLookFab Forum

Brr it's cold. Sometimes I feel like I might push the boundaries of "winterizing" an ensemble I wouldn't normally wear in winter. I am wearing a thin color blocked tunic with wine colored slim pants. First I put on a gray warm infinity scarf with it and grabbed a long cardigan just in case. (At work the day before it was so hot the first half of the day and the other half was frigid because the air conditioning just would not shut off!) I thought the scarf too heavy looking with the flowy top. My first bathroom break I took off the scarf and put on the cardigan and then one of the coworkers said I looked artsy. (?) I had him take my pic. (#1) I didn't get a pic of it with the scarf but was able to on my way out for the day all bundled up with it keeping the cold air out of my puffer. (#2)
What do you think? Does it look like I'm trying to make this work in the wrong season? Thanks for looking and any input!

Love the addition of the burgundy leggings -- unexpected and understated complement to the colorblocking.

Looks great and very seasonally appropriate to me. I love ways to winterize lighter-weight outfits. Great geometric print on the top and I also love the burgundy skinnies.

Thank you Day, KL and KM. Before YLF I never thought to wear any colors without matching them.
KL- I guess I'm ok with artsy - just not sure what makes it. I have so much to learn.

You really succeeded in winterizing your tunic! The burgundy skinnies set off the bold colors and print of the tunic while keeping you warm. If you wore the same tunic and cardigan with black skinny pants or leggings, it would look even more arty, I think.

Seeing you bundled up in your puffer, one would not guess that you are wearing a tunic underneath it--very fun!

I think it's stunning. I think the "artsy" is in response to the sweater, which reminds me of a Mondrian painting. You don't look artsy in a "I was just in my studio doing macrame" way.

ETA: I love this so much, I want to copy it. It's the first time I ever considered reddish pants.

This works perfectly, the pattern is neutral on the top which makes it seasonless to me.

It's the cool graphic print that makes the outfit "artsy" and I'd take that as a compliment. You look great.

Oh, I think you've put together a wonderful outfit here. That is a great tunic, and I think the black/grey/burgundycream (or white?) colour palette is bold and sophisticated. Love it!

Thank you Windchime and I may try that with the black bottoms too. Even though it was single digits out I was still warm.

Ann, thank you and I think you should go for the colored pants! I got these on severe clearance a couple years ago and thought I would wear them as leggings under two sweater dresses but never did before purging the dresses. I have been loving those pictures posted of the red maddie pants - but I'm thinking I could never were those!
