WIW: winter version of a summer outfit

when i uploaded this photo to my computer this morning, i realized it was almost an exact copy of an outfit i wore this summer, only winterized. for spring it was a cotton/rayon blazer, short sleeve tee and a light colored patented leather shoe. for winter i substituted a wool blazer, long sleeve tee, and deep colored almost burgundy suede shoe. looking at the 2 versions side by side, i realize that the spring tee, with its ruching, is more flattering, its better a camouflaging the muffin top. will have to see if i can find a long sleeve version.

have you ever copied an outfit almost piece for piece, but for the opposite season? i'm sure that i have done this before, but never realized it before. this has really shown me the advantages of keeping a visual diary of my outfits.

(fyi, in the winter outfit, these are my inside shoes, i wore bean boots to and from work)

Kkards - I do this all the time. But I am in group uniform. The pieces change but the style remains the same. For those of us who like to cultivate a "look" this really works. I think you look great in both photos!! I like your "uniform" Simple, stylish, professional, elegant but not fussy and the pops of color in your shoes and belt make me happy!! Do you read the Viviennefiles? She had an entire set of post on how to morph a summer to winter wardrobe doing exactly this but then that's the theme. I personally love it!!

PS muffin top? No baked goods in sight!! You look great but I am a big fan or texure in an outfit - both looks are pretty and flattering!!

When an outfits works as well as this does, it should be repeated when possible.
Our winters and summers are so different that it would be hard to find a way to do this. I sub out jeans for denim clam diggers in the summer and would like a warm sweater version of a linen striped tee that I wear in summer.

gryffin- i am definitely on team uniform, but i never realized how much of a uniform i had cultivated. i haven't read the viviennefiles, but will check it out. (and trust me, there is a muffin top under that tee)

Hey, if it works it works! I'm a big fan of the formula/uniform way of dressing, so I've probably done something similar season to season.

Fabulous flats and great outfit. We all have our uniforms. It's part of what makes our style distinctive.

bj111, i wish i had better lighting to take the pictures in, IRL there is a lot of red in my color. at first i missed the blonde, but now i think we have found the right blend of color and i'm quite happy with it. i actually think it makes me look younger.
