Wiw-wide legs cropped pants - YouLookFab Forum

Dear YLF,
As always I come and go but always follow the blog. Today's post remind me of an outfit that I have been wanting to share with you for over a month now.
I decided to incorporate more personality in my work outfits and started with Friday when we have a casual code of dress. Saying that I mean to include more personality in my outfits is relative both because I already dress very distinctly from my coworkers and by personality I mean my personality which everybody Hope's is a good thing.
Anyway, the feedback at the office from my coworkers seems to be good and this particular wide-leg pants were a favorite.
I am not 100% happy with the outfit but cannot pinpoint on what.
Ideas for outfits or comments are welcome.

Well, I think it looks fab! Perhaps a simple tweak like rolling/scrunching your sleeves or adding a belt would make you happier with the overall effect?

I think the top and pants look great together and you look fab. I find with wide legs that shoes are what usually bother me. I don't wear heels, but I do like more visual weight on my feet so they don't look too small in proportion to the wide hem. Not sure if this is what is bothering you, but it always is bothering me when I try wide legs .

I also think you look very fab. I love the colour of your wide legged pants. Both Jenn and Shevia have some great ideas on how to tweak the look.

Did you feel the outfit was off when you wore it, or is that just what you see in the picture? Your stance is a little pigeon-toed—maybe that’s it.

You’ve gotten good ideas already. I think you might also want to balance out the weight/dark color at the bottom by wearing a necklace, scarf, or vest in a shade similar to the pants.

I love the soft blush and burgundy combo, and was nodding along with what Jaime and Jenn wrote. I'm also wondering if you'd like the pants to be just a tiny bit shorter (but as I'm writing this, I think this could just be the angle of the picture, I've had that happen myself too).

I’m a wide legged crop afficionado. My first thought when I saw the photo was the the pants needed to be hemmed 2-3 inches above the ankle bone. I’m glad Angie agrees. When I wear this silhouette, I either match the tone of the pants and the shoes, or the pants and top, or all three if I want to feel particularly chic.

I'm always trying to incorporate more culottes in my wardrobe, as the only sillhouette of pants I can wear in the big heat (if really needed/wanted).
In summer wear them with block heeled high vamp slides and mule or very thin few strap flats, like flips flops, as to ankles/skin painted toes are showing up as much as possible for continuing flow of interest:-).
Then, I plan to wear them for fall/winter with chunkier loafers or midcalf sockboots with a blockheel, for the same reason(ankle showing).
BUT I would be very carefull with shortening them, as the angle of you taking the pictie can be tricky and wearing heels to it, the same, they both can show culotte longer than in fact is.

BTW the color and fit is fabulous!!! You can always belt, for a focal point or add a layer (jacket, vest, long pendant, scarf).

Bravo to you for wearing such stylish pants. I agree that the length could be a few inches shorter. They are a great color. Maybe also try an untucked straight top that hits you above hip bones?
