Hangzhou (where my daughter comes from) is renowned for its silks, many of which are exported, of course. So somebody like Tory Burch probably buys from the factory store where I got the scarf.
Denise, I love my made-in-the-USA Munros. They are just sublime for the comfort, and worth the extra money (not that I paid all that much anyway, since I got them at the NAS!) La Canadienne is made in Canada; here is what they say:
Our products are made in our factory in Montreal Canada, one of the last family-owned Canadian shoe factories, with over 70 years of experience crafting footwear. Our employees are true craftsmen, whose skills and dedication to their trade are found in each and every pair of shoes produced.
We adhere to North American labor laws and meet all environmental standards regulating workplace health and safety. Providing a respected workplace for our employees is paramount to the success of our products.
Danier is also made in Canada, FWIW, at least I think so!
I also really, really, REALLY love my True Religion Camerons and am so glad I got them. There is a made in the USA product that is totally worth it, IMO. And I have you and Angie to thank for modelling them for me.
Pil, I wore that scarf a fair bit in the spring. I really prefer to go "scarf less" but with my short hair and long neck combo I am afraid it's either that or turtlenecks in my climate as it gets cooler.
Beth Ann, Sharon -- it's some comfort to know I am not the only one who struggles to convey the rules of PPL!
Beth Ann -- I got this scarf on our most recent trip. On our first visit I bought a wonderful silk jacket, but now it is too big for me, alas...
Thank you all for the lovely compliments. And yes, Shannon, that dryer trick has made all the difference. I was ready to toss the sweaters, but now this one, in particular, is a workhorse.
