WIW white & watery colors to cool off

It's not and humid here, so this is one of my FFBO casual summer outfits. I wore it yesterday for open house at my studio and then to an impromptu sushi dinner date with my husband. This pic was taken late in the day and I was a little rumpled and windblown, but I had the thought to take a pic when I saw a suitable full length mirror. It's not an exciting outfit, but it's pretty typical of my hot weather style of late.

The shorts are short (for me) but I've decided I'm more comfortable showing my imperfect legs and feeling cool than I was when I wore jeans in 95 degree, 90% humidity weather. I love this color-blocked top and wore it with black shorts last year but I think I am liking it even more with the white ones. I generally like wearing a bit of a heel when I'm showing this much leg to help make my legs look a little more shapely, but for a long day yesterday I just went with my reptile print thong sandals.

I so relate to the challenges of hot weather dressing. I think this is a great ensemble, I love the white shorts on you. No need to apologize about your legs, they look really good to me.

Last year I might have said, no way am I wearing mid-thigh, shorter shorts. But now I am starting to take a different opinion of mid-life dressing. I think the weather and occasion have just as much if not more to do with determining what's right as does age.

Thank you, everyone! I am glad the shorts meet approval. I think I might actually be getting to the point in the summer where I start losing the shock of seeing my legs again and start almost...almost liking them. Or at least making peace with them. A little self-tanning lotion and regular exercise helps a lot.

Angie, thank you for asking! I am feeling great! Almost completely normal. The only time i feel remaining discomfort from my surgery is at the end of the day if i wear something with a waistband that rubs where my incisions are healing. I ran about a third of the way on my four-mile walk/run a couple of days ago, but it was also very warm and humid, so I did not to want to push myself too hard. I'm also swimming a mile every other day, and I think I'm about to sign up for my first mini-triathlon this fall, so I am back up to my usual active self. Whew!

I'm impressed, Janet! And you should be too xo

I think you are right the top goes excellent with the white shorts over black ones. Those jewel tones glow against the white and that's perfect for summer. You look fantastic (and so do your legs)! =)
