WIW: White-Out and Fluid My Way

I’ve stopped trying to do the full fluid/oversize look as I always end up feeling voluminous and shapeless – see Exhibits A & B and let me know if you agree. Drapier tops look similar as well. So many fabbers rock the fluid/oversize fit and look great but I find I need to adapt them to my comfort zone by tucking, semi-tucking or tying somehow. I hope this is not cheating I know I’m going against the trend. Anybody else not willing to do a total shape surrendering, but just a little bit to feel modern?

Suggestions, comments welcome, thanks for reading and a Happy and Safe Fourth!

Wow - your way is definitely the right way IMO!! You look amazing! Well done with the semi tuck. I love everything about this - especially the colour scheme - those are my fav colours!!!

I hear you Gracie. I've got to add a little structure to feel like me. I love the semi-tucked version of your outfit, which I adore btw. I really like how the perforated belt sort of echoes the mesh knit texture on your top.

Would you mind sharing the shade of your nail polish?

Such a simple change makes such a big difference! I absolutely love that outfit and the semi tuck adds so much more to it in my opinion. Enjoy!

Love the shades in that sweater and the look when you semi-tuck! Gorgeous! I don't think it's cheating at all to add a bit of a tuck, in fact it's totally on trend in my books. Like you, I think here needs to be a bit of structure, otherwise I feel way too waif like.

I think the fluid tops require tucking, actually, in most cases, so I don't think you are doing anything wrong!!

DianeG, I ordered several holographic/ultrachrome polishes from ilnp.com. This one is their "Siréne" and it changes from green to purple, it reminds me of a dragonfly. No base coat as I find they chip a bit more than normal polish and no base coat helps it last. I also have their "Cygnus Loop."

Beautiful!! Love the gentle gradations of tone and the textures here. This is a stunning outfit.

As for fluid, I'm all in -- but YOUR way. My rectangular shape does not like a lot of draping and looseness on top. I need to rein it in a bit with a semi-tuck or faux tuck, or else I seem to need a more narrow bottom to counterbalance; hence my love of the tube skirts.
