WIW: White Jeans(!) with Purple

Good Tuesday Morning,

I have to apologize for the post and run. Here it is! Inspired (obviously) by Angie's white jeans look and Meredith's white and purple posted yesterday. A little more casual than either of their looks, but that is the reality of summer MOTG for me!

Havent decided on a bag yet for this? Will be red (biggest), yellow (smallest), or brown (medium) depending on how much I need to carry.

Feedback appreciated, especially on whether you pair purple with red! I know Angie encouraged it a few years back, but I am still not sure... just reminds me of the purple dress and red hat poem. Maybe I need to get over that! LOL

I really like the white pants teamed the purple tank and the summery little chambray shirt over it! There is just something about white pants that just always looks beautiful with almost any top that is such a flattering color! It wouldn't bother me at all to team purple with red. If you are a little worried about the combo why not try echoing the red with another small piece like a skinnny belt. strappy sandal, or scarf?

I love the white jeans with the purple and the blue of the chambray - very fresh. Your shoes are very pretty too. I would happily carry a red bag with that outfit, but yellow sounds lovely too.

Lovely outfit Sarah! Purple is my favorite color and I wear a lot of it in the colder months. Any of the bags you mention would work. I like pairing purple with red, I just make sure both colors have similar/equal saturation levels.

Fabulous fitting (and PPL) white jeans! Love the lilac and soft blue together on you. And bonus that your sandals match! Any of your bags should look good with this.

I LOVE this and would definitely pair red with purple, yes! You look as lovely in lilacs as in blues apparently --- wow!

Actually, I'm very happy to take inspiration from that specific poem. Oh and those two are analogous colours, nearly! To me, it's yellow that is the more daring combination, because of contrast.

Great color combo, and super fresh with the white jeans! Yellow purse would get my vote, but red and purple are lovely paired together. I'd love to see another outfit with the chambray top buttoned up and tucked in :}

So, when I said I was going to "post and run" i thought Id be back by noon to check in. No such luck! I decided on the yellow purse, mainly because I hadnt carried it it in a few weeks and I did love the contrast. I am going to give the red a go next time i believe though

The overshirt, which isnt quite chambrey but is a grey-purple heather became a temporary (the stain did come out in laundry tonight) victim of DD's ketchup obsession at lunch (how this didnt happen to the white jeans I dont know but am immensely thankful!) And I ran by the house to pick up my other purple UPF shirt (when I bought them I felt silly since they were so similar but I was glad I had them today!)

Thanks Angie, I always love it when you ring in. I am glad the jeans get your nod. I had to sew closed and remove the front pocket linings but it made a huge difference in the look. Well worth it!

Shannon, I know right? Where had our white denim been... this is the first pair I have had since 9th grade and I love them! Plus I got white denim shorts this year too

Claire, I am glad you are seeing the PPL here. I found them hemmed to this length (at goodwill where else?) and thought they would work but was a hair worried. I had to fix the execution of the hem because it was sloppy but the hem was stained a tad and couldnt be let out.

Aida, I love the idea of a tucked in top, I will give it a go... Although this one has a hidden pocket at the hem and side runching detail so I may choose a simpler one for that outfit iteration.

Butterflylady, thanks! I try for "fresh" in my style and think I will give the red bag a go in the next round.

Manidipa, that cracks me up that you are happy to take inspiration from the poem. Maybe I should take that carefree attitude! LOL
