I had to post the evolution of this outfit because it was a real light bulb moment for me of how a smaller, well (or better) edited closet can work for me. This was Monday morning and my only thought when I blearily looked in my closet was that I didn't care what I looked like as long as the waist wasn't tight and I was warm. Out came my oldest and loosest pair of grey/black trousers (LOFT I think) and cashmere sweater from Macys from at least three years ago. I was planning on wearing the sweater un-tucked although it looked pretty sloppy. At the last minute I decided to at least try and add a scarf. Then I threw all caution to the wind and tucked the sweater and added a white belt (which I would have never thought to own pre-YLF). All of the sudden I had on an actual outfit that looked like I cared! Woo Hoo! My scarf had turquoise in it and I also wore my new, from Santa, turquoise Jcrew peacoat. So I looked completely pulled together on a very un-pulled together day. I was thrilled and now I'm motivated to do some more editing. Thanks for looking, suggestions welcome. (DD was also not having a good morning.)
