WIW: Weekend MOTG with utility jacket vs. denim jacket

This is what I wore to hang out on a lazy Sunday with the kids. We went out to lunch then to a local park. It warmed up to upper 80s so I took off the jacket at the park. Off to visit my grandparents as soon as Ms. M wakes up from her nap.

I decided to try out the utility jacket, per Angie's suggestion, with a dress. It is a light weight jacket so I was not sweltering hot in it like I am in my denim jacket. Picture #3 is a duplicate dress in a different color with a denim jacket that I wore a while ago but never posted. Apparently this is my MOTG uniform, complete with the same pair of nude sandals.

Which do you prefer, utility or denim jacket? Suggestions for improvement are always welcome! Thanks for looking!

I really like both!! Two great prints with two jacket options. I can't think of anything I would add, unless you want some larger earrings or funky bracelets as accents. But they look great on you even without those pieces!

They are both good, although I have a slight preference for the denim. Just choose whichever one fits the weather better.

I like them both but am drawn to 1 and 2 because of the color of the dress. You are too cute.

Such a lovely dress on you. I like #2 the best, but I also really like the tonal look in #3.

Both look good, but I think I prefer the utility jacket with the dress because they both have more fluidity.

I love that your utility jacket is not green. Otherwise, I like both -- I'd choose utility jacket for the occasions when you want to dress down a notch lower than denim jacket. Such as going to the playground in a really nice dress!

Seriously, can't believe you'd wear a nice dress like that to the playground.. back in the day, I'd go in sweat pants, because of playground dirt, drippy sippy cups, and all that. I admire you!

Thanks, ladies! I would never have thought of pairing the utility jacket with a dress prior to reading angie's article, so thank you! I bought this jacket at the end of spring and it's been sitting in my closet all summer. Now, so many possibilities have opened up!

Shiny, this is a cotton/modal dress that I got on sale for less than $20! That's why I duplicated, plus it's super comfy. The trip to the park was a spur of the moment decision, but I was able to push a swing, help the girls across monkey bars and down slides with no problems

That utility jacket is fab, you will be able to do a lot with it.
#2 is my favourite version of the outfit although I also like #3.
