WIW: Week 3 of September Challenge

1. Saturday. Birding out in the desert is pretty glamorous. I tucked my pants into my socks to avoid ticks. I didn’t get any, thankfully, but I got a bunch of mosquito bites, even with bug spray.
2. White pelican. We saw quite a few. The photo is askew because I was holding my phone up over the reeds (and my head).
3. Sunday. Church. It was 38 in the morning. I wasn’t thrilled with this outfit. I wavered between pink and mustard. Mustard would have been better, I think, with this dark grey EF shirtdress. Also, it might be better as a tunic over leggings, maybe. It felt a little too short.
4. Monday. My usual grey with jeans. EF sandals and seatbelt bag. I went to Kohl’s to buy new underwear and bras.
5. Tuesday. I always wear pink on Tuesday. Thrifted pink jacket.
6. Wednesday. Some errands, and an afternoon spent making Get Out The Vote calls. A seatbelt bag and new FP silver flats.
7. Closeup of shoes.
8. Thursday. A day spent at home.
9. Mr. Skunky just got groomed and is extra handsome.
10. Friday. Errands. Thrifted crops, white denim jacket, EF sandals, seatbelt bag.

I wore grey, pink, silver, and denim. All comments welcome.

Dressed appropriately for the activities of your week, you managed to be stylish as well. You have a great shoe game going on. I DO like your birding outfit and #10 is fabulous.

I love this day of seeing everyone's week worth of outfits! The FreePeople flats kind of just look like booties with the bootcut jeans. Did the cutout show when you moved?

My favorites from this week are 3 and 10. It's interesting how tight your color selection turned out to be, though.

Also, is there a reason you wear pink on Tuesdays? You have me curious.

Carla, thank you. I felt great in #10. It’s cooled a little bit, and a light jacket was nice in the morning.

Mirjana, thank you. I liked #6, too. I wish the dress in #3 was a little longer.

Jenn, thank you. It is interesting about the colors. Re FP shoes, I was already wearing the jeans from my early morning dog get together, and had just gotten the shoes, and tried them. I think the cutouts probably did show, but that’s something I’ll figure out as I try them with other outfits.

Angie, thank you. Wherever we take Mr. Skunky, people make a fuss over him. A couple weeks ago, at an environmental march, a woman lay down on the grass next to him to have her picture taken. Of course, both dogs were wearing tiny sandwich signs, which made them extra cute.

You look great, my faves are 2 and 5. Did you keep that light pnk Cole Han moto.? I saw Sierra Trading had several in the store yesterday.

Needed your expertise when I was in Yellowstone last week. I used to know the birds when DD was little and got a huckleberry ice cream for every 10 mammal, reptile or bird or fish species she could positively ID. Now I’m struggling with all the little brown and grey ones. I probably just need the right motivation - huckleberry martini?

BTW I went bra shopping a Dillard’s - what a great 3xperience. Nordstrom’s like. Knowledgeable SA , clean fitting room, organized racks. And they had my size in many options. I was also at Kohls that day and was overwhelmed by the mess.

Joy, thank you. We were out in some beautiful scenery today, too. The desert has a subtle beauty.

Like the Season, thank you. On Wednesday I started the day with a dog get together, so I needed to wear something durable, but then wanted to make my outfit presentable for going out in public, so I piled on the silver accessories.

Torontogirl, thank you. My attraction to pink has been a strange thing. I hadn’t worn any pink since I was a little girl and my mother chose my clothes. But now that my hair is silver, pink looks pretty good with it.

Catherine, thank you. I liked #6, too. I often wear a charcoal tee, but I liked wearing the heather grey, too. It looked good with silver.

Karen, thank you. I should have gone to Dillards, but Kohls is closer. You’re not kidding about the mess. I’m envious you got to go to Yellowstone! Re the birds that look alike: I can’t tell them apart. I always notice the wrong features. I’m pretty sure a huckleberry martini won’t make IDing birds any easier, but it sounds fantastic!

Katerina, thank you. Mr Skunky (not his real name) is not a typical Scottie. He is very sociable, and loves meeting everyone. I think when I took his picture he wanted an outing.

Kkards, thank you. I copied Jenn and Janet on the flats. Jenn has similar brown ones, Janet has metallic pink ones, and Greyscale just got the silver ones, too. That’s something I love about YLF - being made aware of things others have discovered.

Are pelicans unusual where you are? They are common here. Ms B finds them very intriguing. She tries to befriend them.

Barbara Diane, thank you. Mr. Skunky is a dear boy. About five minutes after the groomer left, after spending 1.5 hours making him handsome, he was laying in the dirt again.

Brooklyn, thank you. Pelicans nest on an island in a lake about 40 miles from us. So we do see them, but it’s always a treat because they’re just so cool. I love seeing them fly in a long line together. When we’re in Texas we see brown pelicans.
