WIW: Week 1 of September Challenge

A week of outfits. I usually don’t take pictures everyday. It’s been in the 90s all week. Actually, it’s been in the 90s or hotter, since late June.
1. Birding at 8700 feet. It was gloriously chilly! Nylon hiking pants, dragonfly tee, Patagonia hoodie, and hiking shoes. I also wore my Tilley hat, with a brim all the way around.
2. Still hot at home, so I changed to shorts. I don’t like these shorts very much.
3. Church. I love this EF linen dress. The bag is thrifted Coach, Born sandals.
4. I changed to this very cool shorts outfit.
5. Labor Day. A nod to the holiday with red, white and blue.
6. I always wear pink on Tuesdays. Pink top from Macy’s, white shorts from Kohls, Sak bag, Hunter sandals, I also wore a pink ball cap.
7. My sandals.
8. It was my birthday, so I changed for dinner out with my husband. The EF linen dress again, but with silver mules this time. Dinner was wonderful.
9. Owl tee and white Bermuda shorts for haircut and pedicure.
10. Silver polish. My left big toenail is purple and the nail is starting to lift off.
11. Volunteering at the thrift store. Eddie Bauer top, thrifted Loft crops, EF sandals, seatbelt bag.
12. I love these sandals.
13. Trip to the Rack to make returns. Linen shorts from Macy’s, pink top from Walmart, EF sandals again, seatbelt bag.

You always look wonderfully appropriate, even for bird watching. Tell me how the sizing is on those EF sandals. I keep looking at them (the version with covered toe). Happy (belated) birthday. The dress is so perfect for a summer evening out. Tonight we are headed to a Greek Festival. I want your dress but may just add a bunch of jewelry and metallic accessories to what I have on.

The Cat, thank you. The silver mules were an impulse buy at Nordstrom Rack. They were very inexpensive, so I thought, why not?

Cardiff girl, thank you. I wanted pale grey or cream, but she said they wouldn’t cover the purple and black. It’s funny, when the birding guide stepped on my foot, it didn’t really hurt that much.

Joy, thank you. I wear size 10 shoes, and that is the size of the EF sandals. The leather is really soft.

Angie, thank you. My goal with this challenge was to make my outfits more interesting. Some of these weren’t great, such as the last one. The linen shorts have been a disappointment. And I have them in olive, too. But at least they weren’t expensive. It was worth a try at upgrading my shorts capsule.

Are you trying to convert me to the optic of pointy toes with those mules? You’re close to succeeding. (But I still can’t imagine they’d feel right). The linen dress is so snazzy and great with them.

Good coverup of the toenail, and good attitude. The silver is cute, but if you really want the other colors, you could leave the silver as base coat and put them over it. Just like painting over a dark wall, lol.

I like the dragonfly print and the hoodie you wore with it.

Pink Tuesdays! Did you get the memo, or how did that start? Love the fit of that top.

And the seatbelt bag in action! You maybe shown it before, but I didn’t notice it until you mentioned it in a discussion recently.

Becky, thank you. When we got back from Alaska in June, we were having a heat wave. They’re usually a week long or so. This one lasted all summer. I just hope this isn’t the new normal.

Rachy, thank you. I’ve had the pants for five years or so. The brand is White Sierra.

FashIntern, thank you. The mules are not shoes I would wear for an all day walking event. But considering how pointy they are, they’re not bad.

Style Fan, thank you. The thrifted striped pants were one of those buys that at the time I thought was just a novelty, but then I’ve worn them time and again. I think I paid six or seven dollars for them, and now the cpw is approaching zero.

Jane, thank you. The EF dress is, on the surface, unflattering. Big and baggy. Yet I love it.

Mainelady, thank you. It’s a miracle to find shorts that fit and look nice. It’s easy to find shorts that look bad (see #13!). So I’ve worn the white shorts a lot this summer.
