I'm going to be taking a bit of a YLF break for a while as I need to recharge on Sunday and spend the rest of the long weekend (Monday) working on my project and paper for my part time studies. Juggling full time work and part time school can be so challenging sometimes!
I attended a wedding today and really prided myself over this outfit. You may recognize this dress in a previous WIW as my no-fail dress:

And LOOK!!!! The photo was taken in the weddings "photo booth" backdrop... And my boyfriend took it! I feel like a typical fashion blogger now. (Heh).
So why I like this outfit a lot: I found that it's very well executed. The hair, makeup, shoes and accessories worked out exactly how I envisioned it. I felt good in it, for the most part. I wanted to achieve a slightly 1960's Mad Men Meets Mod vibe, but modernizing the look to bring it to this time. I've always wanted an excuse to wear the dress on its own so I did just that. The new Aravons surprisingly worked with this and I was so happy that my feet never even ached once! There were also so many colours in this dress so I went with magenta nails, turquoise clutch, and a cobalt jacket to keep me warm outside. I chose pewter and silver metallics for the jewelry and wore statement earrings and ring instead of my usual statement necklace. The glasses were not part of the accessories I selected: it's a giveaway in the wedding and I selected magenta to match my outfit. I felt good, I felt like myself, and that's what matters.
My only disappointment is this: I wish my waist isn't so big I had just finished eating a lot here so my wide waist looks a lot wider than it already is. Many of the women there are tiny women with defined waistlines, and I seriously felt like the largest woman in the room. I know - I have severe self-esteem issues with regards to my physical appearance, and I'm still working through them. Despite this though, I did not let my size and body type ruin how happy I was over my well-executed look.
