WIW: Vintage Fur

Greetings everyone, so on Memorial Day weekend I went to two clothing swap parties. One was on Sunday and the other was on Memorial Day evening. This for me was the best score a real vintage fur topper. With silk lining. I was so happy with my new to me find I wore it for the rest of the evening. The is such a great way to meet new friends and enjoy new to me finds. After both events were over what was not taken we donated to a local women's shelter in Chicago.

What I wore: faux leather track pants ( men's section Foreman Mills), leather wedge sandals(Shoe Time), light grey top (thrift store). Neck Piece I cut from a halter dress (thrift store) assorted jewelry from everywhere.

As usual comments critiques and all comments are welcome.

Aren't you a creative one to remove that Beading(/) portion and reuse it as a necklace? I see dresses like that all the time while thrifting and never would have thought of such a thing!
I've never been to a clothing swap, but it sounds like fun!

You have such joyous style.... love the outfit, the fur cap and especially love the idea of cutting out the embellished neckline of an old top to keep as jewelry - so fun!

TraceyLiz65- I am thinking about hosting one it was fab :). You get together with friends, family, co-workers, whomever and light refreshments are given. Everyone brought something from shoes to coats to artwork. It is like a big home purge very very fun event.

The necklace idea came to me while dreaming of what else but ideas for fashion. I actually have used the left over material in a previous post as a head wrap. I'm on the lookout for more very fun and inexpensive. It really dresses up an outfit.

Calmwave- we should all have fun with fashion my clothing speaks without me having to I'm really a introvert at heart.

Really love that necklace idea, going to keep an eye out while thrifting.

What a fun fur hat! I had a fake fur hat a bit like that for winter, and it was kind of hilarious how it scared my cats when I set it down on the table or something. They were sure it was alive and approached very cautiously to poke at it with a paw and jump back.

JAileen- I just adore hats and I am trying to find bigger ones because my growing dreads will not allow me to wear my old winter hats and I am not really a beanie person. Maybe if the right one comes along.

Rabbit- The inside tag reads Andriana Furs. This is a fur store that has been in the local Chicago area for more than 25 years. I love the story about you cats being afraid of your hat.
