WIW: Utility Vest and Sorel Lake Boots

I put this outfit together in my head to feature two new purchase - a grey utility vest and my Sorel peep toe wedge boots. I didn't have much time this morning so I grabbed a couple photos and ran. By lunch I wished I had added a necklace or some pins on the vest to "lady it up" a bit. I like the BA elements of the best and boots.

What do you think? Tucked or untucked? Add color? Add accessories? Suggestions welcome! Please excise the messed hair in the untucked photo and the laundry

I think I prefer tucked:) I like the simple line of this outfit and the modern vibe. I can see a long pendant working nicely with this too.

This is a good look on you. I like all the pieces together and they seem to express a definite point of view, a "you"-ness.

However I am hopeless at jazzing up outfits so I will leave it at that! I'm even thinking of making a collection of pics of my outfits and posting it as "Outfits that need help" or some such thing!

LOVE the boots. I don't think it needs anything but a cuff or belt may be nice - I like the top tucked too

Love the silhouette! I vote for untucked, or tucked with a belt, for more added structure. The booties add a bit of edge.

I too prefer it tucked. Love the way the boots add something modern and special to the outfit, as does the vest (I love vests!). My suggestion is to add a collar type necklace rather than a pendant due to the tucked top. Pick a necklace with a bright color that flatters your face such as turquoise. Your wall looks great against your skin and hair color! A necklace with fun and flattering colors wakes up an outfit of neutrals I have found.

I love vests, too. They are so versatile! And so good for debombsheling a dress or a pencil, like you did! Love both incarnations, even without any accesories, but you could always put on a chunky cuff, a belt, or a necklace worn on the skin. Great booties, too:-) Have fun with your new purchases, Nadya! Love this! It's so nice to see you too. I like tucked and untucked, but maybe if you go with untucked, try a longer pendant necklace.

I love this vest look. For some reason I don't like how my vests look on me with short sleeves (either sleeveless or long sleeves look better, I have no idea why), but this looks fab on you.

What CocoLion said! This is great on you! I actually like it both ways about equally. Like Janet, I would probably wear it with a long sleeved or (preferably) a 3/4 sleeved underlayer. Not sure why -- that's just my impulse.

Great combination of vest and boots! I go back and forth on the tucking issue, which means both look very good.

Thanks for the ideas! I love the idea of a short colored necklace, hadn't thought of that. I'll definitely try with longer sleeves when it cools down - it was 79 the day I wore this.

And, I did wear tucked. Didn't want to sway the feedback ;).

I like vests. They are really in this year. I can't wait to start wearing my faux fur vests. I like your outfit - tucked the best. A statement necklace or a scarf would just ramp it up a notch.
