Greeting, fellow Urban Warriors and Fair Ladies here is my attempt at my inspiration Prabal Gurung. Please serious comments I can take the truth for I am a Warrior. I had the day off and time to play dress up. I dug in my closet to find somethings that could be suitable for summer and my style. I bought 2 jumpsuits from the thrift store in the winter one was a short style romper and the other is a longer jumpsuit. I decided to use this as the base I am wearing the short romper with leather like leggings underneath. The leggings to be removed or to be traded in for shorter capri style leggings for the summer.

Sticking to the "Night" in Urban Night Warrior I decided to go with a darker color pallet and stick with earth tones. I wore a cuff bracelet that is a leaf, hoop earrings with an animal print pattern, a neckless that was tribal inspired. I also wore my animal print scarf and my current loves my cut out shoes both in black and dark brown. I actually wore this out I had to run errands and felt just like me. So now, I turn it over to you all.

I love the presentation and the style...4 and 5 look amazing with the drape scarf perfect for a summer's wardrobe...6 love the up close of the scarf and the jewelry looks amazing...7 belt adds just the right touch..8 the jewelry is really TDF....9-10 cute play suit...I think you have nailed a stylish look that is both you and is versatile to wear with leggings or alone...

Woohoo! Great look, and what a wonderful way to add drape and asymmetry to the jumpsuit with the belted scarf. I also think the earth tones and textures in the accessories and shoes work really well together, they add complexity to a simple, but wonderful silhouette. Also a really great interpretation of the originals, plus for summer!

It's also the kind of outfit you can do many variations of, just by swapping accessories and shoes, it can be powerfully versatile, awesome!

You're making me think about jewelry for the summer, when it's really hot. Do you wear jewelry when it's really hot? I'm thinking, if I do, I think I tend to wear beads. Wood. The sort of things best worn when you don't have a job... hehe. I have to think about this, my jewelry wardrobe...

Alicat-Thank you, My niece took the pictures so I we decided to have fun.

Crutcher-I appreciate your detailed comments and I would settle for a good few repitive outfits or a caspule summer wardrobe. I know so many people who never wear the samething twice and they keep on buying clothes in hopes of getting compliments or in hopes of having a fulfilling life.

Rabbit-I also appreciate your comments I have a lot of accesories that I will be using to change up both the shorts playsuit and the lonnger jumpsuit.

Rachylou-Yes, I wear tons of jewlery all year round. It can get really hot at times in the Chicago area but we can aloso hav 3 seasons in one day. I wear a lot of wooden cuffs and necklaces in the summer. Mostly beauty supply store $1 jewelry or from the thrift stores. My gandmother had a ton of costume jewelry I inherited when she passed away. She was the ultimate Lady Warrior. :))

You definitely own your final look: fierce and fab. Your poses are too fun!

I did notice though that the first two inspiration pics are more about texture mixing, using all solid pieces, vs the pattern you've added for interest. So perhaps on your next dress up day, try out different textures?

E- Thank you for the apperception and the suggestions. I'm still trying to think about what different textures I can use in the summer. Suggestions are welcome, I was thinking maybe denim tube dress like Oz suggested and a linen top of some kind. My challenge for myself is not to go shopping and to dig in my closet to recreate the outfits.

Textures are definitely more challenging in summer than winter! I wasn't criticising your outfit, just throwing out a suggestion for the future.

I don't have a UWP style, but my warm weather textures tend to come from slubby linen or linen/cotton blends, satiny silk, airy silk/cotton voile, eyelet and lace fabric (I doubt that one is UWP, heehee), lightweight knits in warm weather fabrics (cotton/silk/linen) that have some kind of interest to them (ribbing, cabling, etc.), and the occasional sturdy canvas shorts. Denim & linen sounds like a good combo: maybe add a smooth, silky fabric too to bring out the contrast? I try to contrast matte fabrics w shinier ones or drapey fabrics with stiff ones if nothing else. Oh and of course wearing knits with wovens creates a bit of textural interest in and of itself, even if it's just a tee plus woven bottom.

Hope that helped! It was a bit stream of conscious, I know.

LOL, I only just now saw the other thread (I'm working my way from the older threads to newer ones) and here you are, already with the result.

Excellent interpretation. And you were obviously having so much fun The jump-suit is great and I love how it fits you, plus it looks mega versatile. The floaty scarf is feminine, but the pattern plus all the accessories - a lot of them, they all work together - add the Warrior toughness. The necklace is especially fab. It all suits you so well. Btw, I actually tried something similar two months ago for my son's Stone Age themed birthday party (I have black-grey animal print scarf), but I chickened out and did not wear it - it felt somehow out of my comfort zone, but I couldn't figure out why.

I love it when forum members use inspiration pieces (I do, too!) and you've achieved it, ladywone. Reading that you were out and about doing errands and feeling like "you" means that you were in the zone. Fashion mission accomplished.

Thank you all for the feedback and reading this thread. I find fashion to be fun and to interpret the runway to my summer style is even better. With all the joking that I do I want to feel comfortable and look good and still feel like me. At 40 I believe that fashion, fun and common ground can be stylish.
