WIW: Under the Radar? Momly? - YouLookFab Forum

The weather is cooperating so I don’t need to wear my (red) outerwear. I removed my nail polish and DH said to remove my necklace. I am wearing my Mom’s Mizrahi for Target sweater, her big black bag, and stretchy, functional (except for driving) gray gloves. No product on hair, lighter lips, and much smaller studs than usual. I would wear my mom’s watch but the battery ran out a couple of weeks ago so the watch I am wearing becomes the default statement item.

Pic #3 is WIW yesterday for our meeting in a home with the precandidate; changed that evening to my crazy patent platform boots for my women’s group since my feet had started to hurt by then.

As I dress, I think of Angie’s color-texture-pattern-shine as well as cut/line to evaluate the interest of the outfit. Today I didn’t eliminate all texture and shine because that would be too depressing and I still have to function. I am glad that I am at least physically super comfortable.

1and 2 look like good under-cover outfits. If doing the last outfit, you need to remove the fingerless gloves. They are unique and will be memorable.

I hope this works. Personally, for one, I tend to remember strangers in church. And also what they wore. Haha. Maybe it’s because our church is fairly small. I remember tons of outfits I and others wore for various events and non-events throughout the years (I wore pink print elastic waist boxers and a white tank top on a day shortly after we moved into our current house and a friend came over so I could hem her shorts, for instance, 30 years ago). And my first question to someone asking if I know so-and-so is, what do they look like? Admittedly, the asker can never describe the person so I guess I’m unique.

I think less noticeable than wearing all gray and black might be an ordinary dull colored top under the vest, like rust or mauve. The all black with your short, distinctive hair style looks edgy to me, not anonymous. Have fun!

My “son” and I saw a couple of folks we knew (an Asian we’d met at a conference and a minister he knew well from his old church) so we kept our heads down and rushed out before the service was completely over. We did get a few curious looks and an ask of whether we wanted to stand up and be introduced. No, no, no. I gave her my most horrified look.

Three more weekends of interviews and visits to three more churches who will have mysterious guests preaching.
