WIW Tue for errands, minus the shoes

I traded out for the studded sneakers because it had been raining and puddle jumping in silver flats didn't sound too appealing. I keep struggling with the cardi being kind of staid, but think with skinnies and the necklace it's okay. And let's face it - walking with your dry cleaning to drop it off and hitting up BigLots for some things on the way home isn't the most glamorous life.
I keep thinking I should have some cool, 'wow' outfits but then ask myself where the heck would I be wearing them?? I think I have enough of them to cover my few occasions. In the mean while, real life is here to be lead, and we need to dress for it. That's my story and I'm sticking to it! (I can't seem to get enough of my white jeans, either. So surprised!)

Mo, I really admire the effort that you put into your daily outfits for Florida to look stylish. The silver fats and probably your studded sneakers negate any cardi staidness. The white jeans look amazing on you.

Great outfit, Mo. I think it's the way you styled this cardi, that makes it look not staid but exciting to my eye. I think it's the necklace and silver tank, and then the white jeans and silver shoes .... all together.

The AE cami is a really great detail. White jeans fit you perfectly. Love the narrative, yes as much as it can be fun to shop for our imaginary lives... It is much more rewarding to shop items that work in our actual lives.

Sarah, thanks. It is true that real life trumps our ideas of pretty outfits we might wear in our dreams. And I'm trying to come to grips with making the daily wear choices ones I like as much as my 'going out' ensembles.

I actually think the cardi looks great and fits perfectly with the skinnies and rockin silver flats. Rag & Bone and Autumn Cashmere have cardis out, so they can't be all that staid.:)

Well, I adore your "real life" outfit! The silver flats add the right amount of cool, and I'm sure the studded sneakers did as well. I've had similar thoughts regarding the need for more cool outfits, but the truth is I lead a pretty laid back non-glamorous life.

Mo I agree that the cardigan in itself could be a bit 'so so' but really I wouldn't have thought that unless I read your post. I think the outfit is suitably casual but still a large cut above what a lot of people wear for casual. I understand your love of the white jeans.. you look so good in them:)

I think many of us overdosed on cardis a few years ago, but they are classics for a reason: They're ladylike, classic, and comfy. You've made it fresh with crisp white jeans and metallic touches at the neck and on your feet. That's living real life with style!

Another great outfit! The proportions work really well together, and so do the colors. It's so true, we must dress for the life we lead. Otherwise, it's a closet full of clothes that won't get worn.

Great outfit (I'm definitely looking for some silver flats, every time I see yours I'm jealous). The color of the cardigan keeps it from being boring. I have to remind myself not to buy for a fantasy lifestyle also. I don't have that many occasions to dress up and don't get to wear my dress-up clothes and shoes enough as it is.

Cardi - "staid?" Mo honestly we need to get you a new mirror!! My first impression looking at your pic was "WOW!!" With your silver, white and gray and your lovely flowy hair you like like a princess in fairyland. But that cardi - wow, look at how the garnet warms your skin and makes it glow! and how the v - neck gives you that lovely swan like neck!! So pretty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So please apologize to that cardi at once!!
