Last summer (still in Texas), I thrifted this turtleneck after being surprised by how not-bad it looked on in the fitting room and being unable to resist the rayon fabric and light taupe colour. Having a short neck, I've long avoided such necklines, but I brought it home & got both my mother & sister's approval. Then in the fall, after I moved north, I pulled it out only to discover that with my new bob, it didn't work nearly so well (in the Texas summer, I always wear my hair up). So I've patiently waited until spring, when my hair's grown out just long enough to manage an updo, and I pulled it out on Saturday to give it a go.

To read more springlike, I paired it with this ditsy floral print skirt that I also thrifted last year. I'm pretty sure it was homemade sometime in the 90s, and I adore it for its blue-green colour, generous pockets, and the little flowers around it all. I've worn it quite a bit, but I don't think I've shown it on the forum before; I fully expect a lot of you to have a poison eye for such a dated fabric. That's ok!

I love combining pinks, so I added raspberry tights and a rose sash, which are both represented in the floral print, and finished things off with my little hedgehog friend. I liked the combination of playfulness and primness that the final outfit gave off.

All feedback welcome, as always! I'm especially curious about what you think of me in the turtleneck, but any comments are appreciated. I should have pulled the neckline back up I suppose, but this is what it really looked like at the end of a day spent mainly in a combination of reading and convincing the two pets that they could share my attention and lap and apartment (it was their first day together). As you can see, I now have two photobombers! lol

I forgot to take outerwear pics, but I wore my new grey trenchcoat (part of my spring/summer update that I'll hopefully be posting about soon) and grey oxfords. And I forgot to take any detail shots too or pose earlier in the day so the lighting would be less obnoxious. I had a lot on my plate, but I'm trying to get back into the wiw habit, so there you go!
