WIW: trying boho braid

Heres my outfit today, going to be a hot one. Satin sleeveless top with a kind of 70’s print, distressed denim skirt, lapis ring, slouchy boho leather bag and my attempt at a boho plait. Don’t think the plaits working but I like the outfit....
Thanks so much for any critique and comment- I appreciate any tips!

Very cute top. I love that small ruffly neckline. I have a l/s black top like that - which I need to wear soon! Thanks for the reminder.

The print of your top is so pretty. It looks like something Zara would carry, and it warms my 70s-loving heart. Great with the denim skirt! The braid works too, and the flat sandals. There's a real story in this whole look, Jussie. Love it.

Mainelady: thanks! My issue with the braid: upon reflection I think I did it a little too tight and neat... I will make it a bit looser and messier tomorrow; for that “I’m too cool to worry about my hair” look... only achieved after significant worrying about hair hahaha

What a pretty top! I love the floral pattern and the neckline. I'm also loving your gorgeous ring.

Maybe by the end of the day, your braid will naturally have that looser, messier look!

What a great outfit for a hot day! The braid adds to the coolness of your look. The ring is beautiful on your long fingers. Your nails add to the polished natural look.

I like this, braid and all. I think that the floral blouse paired with the casual skirt makes a nice juxtaposition. By the way I have liked all your outftis until now (even if I had not commented yet).

Sisi: thank you very much. Sometimes I have no idea if my outfits are working! That’s why ylf is good. I felt like this one was a bit out of my comfort zone having the semi-dressy black top with the faded denim skirt. It is maybe a little awkward- but I wanted to wear this particular top as I hardly ever wear it- and pairing it with black on the bottom half seemed to somber... and my tan chino skirt is a little too tight at atm....so the denim skirt juxtaposition it was.
