Too hot for boots today - LOL! I may not do that again soon. It's 88 F and very humid. Walking to the office is going to be a bit of a chore.

I love this outfit - have worn it a lot this summer - and it intrigues me because there was a time I would not have chosen to wear something that makes me appear so wide. Frankly, I don't really care anymore (joys of being 57?). The full cotton skirt is lovely on a hot day, and the square cut gauze top has a great neckline.

What do you think?

So simple and chic . I like to think ( at least this is what I tell myself) that you can usually tell by the person’s bone structure , face , arms , ankles etc that the silhouette suggested by an outfit doesn’t indicate the shape / size of the body underneath . This is a lovely , professional-yet-modern hot summer look . Love those clogs !

What a pretty summer look. I like how the necklace and skimming ribbed top keep this look very modern and very you. (Unlike, say, adding a frilly top and antique-look necklace, which could also work with the skirt and clogs. . . for someone else.)

I think it is the simplicity of it that works so well -- the necklace is key, too -- its modernity offers a nice contrast to the fuller skirt.

Also, the fresh blue and white scream summer to me, as well, and maybe in particular, summer in Maine. Interesting!

This is a lovely and flattering outfit, and perfect for summer heat because nothing about it looks forced. It's cool and easy but still polished.

I know what you mean by "there was a time I would not have chosen to wear something that makes me appear so wide..." I had the same worries, but then pleated midis started showing up a few years ago, and I just loved their new airy, non-stiff fabrics-and their longer length-- so slowly became accustomed with more volumes on my low part, too. Now, I see only a really great and smart summery outfit here-and have my version of this one, too- which I wear it with heads up and then hope for the best, aka beeing judged rather by my bone structure , face , arms , ankles-as Lisa said-haha!:-)

This outfit says breezy, crisp, nautical, casual but dressy, comfortable. I guarantee you that "wide" would have never entered my thoughts. The necklace is great!

I think flattery has become a bit less important with dressing now across lots of ages. There’s a sense of joy in this look that I love.
