Never in a million years did I think I would get to participate in the trench challenge because it had been so warm and dry here, but here I am. Last night it started pouring buckets and the old winter cozy clothes came out again. I pulled on a favorite cashmere sweater and have placed cashmere joggers on my shopping list. Seemed liked a good idea-why not cozy sweaters for the legs? I also wore black skinnies, black ankle boots. The ankle boots are Frye Diana and they are cute but OMG they are so hard to get on and off. People said that in the reviews but I didn’t listen.

The trench is a vintage London fog. It is really quite utilitarian but things I really appreciate about it are- it fits me—It’s petite sizing so sleeves aren’t too long. It is long, so it actually keeps me dry.. The fabric is nice and I really like the drape. It has a lot of thoughtful details, buttons, vents, that make it so that even though I see other shiny new jaunty trenches, they cannot replace this one. I like to wear it open in front and cinched in the back. It does have a strong “presence” though and I have not tried to style it when it’s not raining.

ETA: added a photo of it tied in number 5. Granted the shoes are very flat, but I feel very short. I like it otherwise, but probably will break out the heels for this.
