I have all the components of this outfit in my wardrobe, so it was almost too easy, lol.
The pleated skirt, leggings, top, moto-ish jacket, and neckwear (in the spirit of the kitchen sink, I opted for BOTH a cowl AND a necklace, because why not) are straight out of the ensemble. I had to swap out the shoes, because I don't own any of the delicate, low-vamped shoes Angie showed. My shoes (particularly the boots) make this ensemble more 90's than 80's but that's OK because I'm much more of a 90's girl anyway! I also swapped out the bag (just using one of my ubiquitous nylon totes) because no way my laptop fits in one of those tiny boxy crossbody bags, and I don't have one of those anyway.
So... I put on the version with oxfords just to see what it would look like, but am wearing the boots version because it's too cold for bare ankles. I do like the oxfords version too though! You might also notice that I swapped necklaces between the two versions - that's because I only realized after I put it on that the gold necklace was actually broken and I didn't have time to fix it. I actually prefer the bigger gold necklace here.
