WIW Today: Angie's Pick Stem Jacket

I love this knit jacket so much that I grabbed it from the ultra-low dryer setting while it was still a little damp. Forgive the resulting rumpledness, I will get out the iron.

I originally had this on with skinnies, but since it's reverse hi-lo (shorter in the rear) I didn't like the exposure and changed to straight leg trousers.

April, it looks wonderful on you!! I almost ordered this jacket even before the Angie recommendation. But I didn't, fearing it wouldn't work on my bust-less self. You tempt me all over again. Argh!!!!

Did you order a petite in it?

Suz, I actually didn't realize it had a petite version, but this is the regular XS. In fact, the sleeves are a touch short on me after washing and drying on low according with label instructions. I'm likely to scrunch anyway, and will give them a little deliberate stretching the next time they're wet.

I don't think it does come in petite, looking at the site again. Thank you for the info -- this is helpful. I might order it after all. Worth a try, right? I think it would be a great transitional piece for me. Also easy to pack.

Joy -- yes, this is the heather black. I know there's a suggestion to size down, but I wouldn't given that it does shrink a touch when washed the first time.

I think they must have put the model wearing the grey color in a much bigger size -- which would be an option if you wanted a drapier fit. I was looking for more of the fit on the model who's wearing the Heather Black color: shaped.

I just tried it and am returning. Angie was right--even in small size, I would have had to take it up. There was a front-side seam that looked like it would make for easy alterations, but there were other things that did not work for me.
It is high-low with the peplum being high in back, and the drape lower in front, which is just the opposite of what works best for me. Then I decided that it was too dark for a summer weight cotton knit, for what I need.
Still no regrets! It was fun to try.

(Sshhhhh...I kept a Blardigan.)

Since that is unlikely to occur ever again, I would like to savor the moment...
