WIW today: an example of my work style now

I bought this citron (or maybe chartreuse?) cashmere cardigan in an attempt to find warm work layer options. It was on sale at Nordstrom and is from their Collection, so hopefully will not PILL. Worn with Kut Jennifer ponte skinnies. I wear both black and grey of these at least once a week. Also a burnout t from the Nordstrom juniors department that was $12, over a cami. Wore my Ugg Cortonas and was supremely comfortable for a loooooooong day.

Is the cardi too overwhelming? It is almost like wearing a blanket.

Looks gorgeous!! I think your shoulders give it enough structure. That right there is the beauty of the IT shape.

Suz, do you think so? I worry that this is only emphasizing the skinny legs and wide top half, but the boots made a difference, and it was so dang comfy.

Oooh I love the cardi (it does look chartreuse on my screen), and I don't think it overwhelms you. Looks cozy! Your work style embodies comfort and style in perfect harmony. I am crazy about chartreuse lately. You've got me thinking maybe I should add an item in that shade to my closet.

Somehow the color offsets the casual blanket effect. Not that there is anything wrong with a casual blanket!

Well . . . you've got the V-neck thing going on with the cardigan, so that helps - but there is something about the length of the cardigan on the sides that give me pause. I don't know for sure Una - but I'm wondering if you need to be wearing more of a heel in order to pull of the length of the cardigan? (Just thinking out loud here!)

so you can get a better idea of it. I have the same concern you do, and sometimes I feel I am caving into comfort and letting myself go style-wise.

It is a lot of sweater as pictured, but I bet the boots helped the proportions. One day maybe we'll get to see the whole shebang! I had to stop myself getting that sweater, too. Not weather appropriate for me, sadly.

I like the contrast of drapey top layer with a tighter bottom half. And a great color on you. I do find most cashmere pills, but I just use a fabric shaver for that.

I was just thinking about your new style today, as I was musing about why Eileen Fisher style silhouettes are so bad on me. I tried a silhouette similar to the one your wearing and looked solidly frumpalicious. I resolved to view some of your recent posts to see if I could nail down the difference --- and you gave me a great new one to ponder!

I think Suz is on to something. Your shoulders are giving structure to the draped top half, and your slender, but strong legs give the a sharper line at the base. You also know who to choose items that are generously draped, but not oversized. The scrunched sleeves adds structure, too.

Your new work outfits are flattering and polished, while maintaining that touch of edge and modernity. Brava!

I like the combination of lime green with the gray top and black pants. It adds color plus it adds a longer line. These cardi's are great with the draping effect adding a very feminine touch. I really beleive in these dreary days of winter that we need to incorporate brightness into our wardrobes and this green and this style is the perfect way to do it. Keep you Warm as well which is important!
