WIW today - cozy plaid

I really wanted to wear this plaid skirt today after finally finding time to shorten it, so I started my outfit planning with it. I first tried to go with more blue on top (to go with the blue stripes in the skirt), but something was off with those combinations. I finally decided to go with 'warmer' colors and I like the result much better. The greens are definitely on the warmer end of neutral and I think they work better with the skirt colors. I really like the proportions of this one. And I have to say it again - I love my boots! They are just awesome. It's gotten quite cold, but with the wool skirt, wool sweater and warm boots and coat I felt very cozy this morning.

This is very cute! I love how the green opposes the red in both location and tone. I am a sucker for plaid skirts and this one is very cute on you especially with the boots. I love this outfit. Very cozy.

Thanks Shannon! I just love green now, I can't believe that I never wore it in the past. I like the length too, I think it's a good middle ground between keeping the vibe of the skirt and finding a flattering length. And I'm also glad the boots are working out so well, they were expensive. I've already got asked where I bought them by three different people, because they liked them so much!

Thanks Suz! This really is comfortable. Wearing this outfit feels like wearing lounge wear. And there's nothing you have to fuss with, like with some outfits that are tucked or layered or belted...

This is lovely Astrid, it hints at a heritage countryside look but is bang up to date.

I can also see how this outfit draws on your past posts about wanting to feel comfortable, of selecting a colour palette and those nature inspired photographs you posted.

I can't believe you never thought of wearing green. It used to be the standard go-to colour of redheads, and you are certainly showing us why.

You are making me want a plaid skirt, but I just bought two new skirts, so I am stopping. Maybe next year.

Thanks JR! My hair is not as red as it looks in the pictures IRL, but even my sister who really has red hair doesn't wear much green. I wonder what's up with that?

Thanks Manidipa! The boots are new (http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....e-boots-kr), I bought them a month ago. They were quite expensive, but they are fantastic. I'm wearing them right now and we have a lot of snow (the first time this year) and my feet were warm, dry and comfortable on my way to work. The soles have good grip too. Definitely worth the money!
